you're as blind and stupid as F King, who doesn't seem to understand the correlation between successful sports teams and fundraising/marketing for the school. Ask Alabama how much Saban's run has done for them.

F King doesn't want the best for LSU, why should we? He simply wants sports to win just enough to keep the donations coming in.

Short term hurt to the endowment for a better long term outlook with King's dismissal seems reasonable to me.

During the Emmert era athletic money was actually being pumped into academics. Updating facilities and research capabilities. This in turn drew in more/higher quality students/professors/faculty. I'm sure it still is now but in less tangible and effective ways. Athletics fails. Academics fall behind. And everyone is going out of state or effing LA Tech. Plus you fail to "export" highly qualified individuals into the workforce with an innate desire to support the university they love and the means to do it..

This administration is too short sighted to see that. Raising prices. Nickel and diming. Taking away campus parking and migrating tailgaiting to purely corporations.. These things all make money in the short term, but the students coming out will have absolutely no connection to LSU and will therefore have no desire to donate..

TLDR: sports feeds academics feeds individuals feeds ability and desire to support LSU.

Most of these clowns have no idea what the endowment does or who controls it. They weren't going to donate anyway.

Please consider that the athletic department is pretty much separate from the educational institution. I wouldn't recommend giving anything to the sports operation at this time, but the educational side of the university has been starving for too long. It is worth a donation to help the institution.

They're all under the same president, a total fricking moron who is doing more to ruin this university than he is to improve it. He's a dickless coward that is a constant state of embarrassment for this state.

No way can people trust F King to be a reliable steward of donor dollars. He has littered the entire system with incompetent shite heads, or, a total mirror image of himself, leading to one scandal after the other.

The percentage of people on this site that would be willing to donate to an endowment fund is probably < 1%.

The people you are talking to simply don't care.

You're wrong about me. I have told my TAF rep that no more large donations coming from me until Alleva is gone. I just hope more people are telling their reps the same. Let the Alleva lovers fund the endowments.

You know I’ve never joined the alumni association. I will join the day Alexander and Alleva are no longer associated with my alma mater.

Can some of that go toward Alleva and F. King's buyout?

What you non-eggheads don’t understand is that LSU educates the vast majority of the state’s teachers, engineers, doctors, lawyers, scientists, businessmen and women, researchers, and so on and so forth. More than most other states that have multiple flagship-sized universities, most of the college-trained professionals in our state are a product of LSU, which means that the quality of life and economy of Louisiana are directly affected by the state of LSU’s academics.

Punish TAF all you want, but believing that the only way to enact a change in LSU athletics is to withhold funds from classes and labs, hemorrhaging elite faculty (replacing PhD’s in the classroom with second year grad students who are barely older/more knowledgeable that the students they’re instructing), and preventing the university from fixing sub-standard facilities, is short-sighted and incredibly stupid.

Stop attending, watching, buying apparel, following the sporting events you claim alleva and king are ruining. That’s literally the only way they’ll get the message. Cutting educational funding to a university is not the way to get what you want
. I still watch, but have discontinued my football season tickets and buying apparel since Orgeron was given the Head Coaching job and with the treatment of Will Wade, I will continue my approach until change is made at the top.

I’ll probably donate 6 figures so LSU can hire some IT consultant to work remote from Illinois.

Six years, $1.5B is a staggering goal for a university not known for alumni giving. This is going to fall way short and add more egg to the faces of the administration.
