LSU will be very strong in the trenches. That usually is a key to success no matter the athletes who are around them. However, with O and the inexperience as a whole on offense I can’t see LSU winning more than 8 this season and that is a failure no matter the schedule at LSU.

Best Kept Secret in College Football

I've heard that talk before. That was the same mantra incanted during the fretful summer of '91, prior to the anticipated debut of Curly Hallman.

Welp, the secret was revealed in sickening fashion, double blowouts of 10-31 & 7-45 right out of the gate.

I think we get our 10th win in the bowl game but there will be a bunch of 13-9 or 17-10 (with a defensive TD) wins in there

That’s not going to happen. This LSU team is way too talented for that sort of a meltdown.

No doubt CEO is fired at seasons end along with Alleva if he bombs that bad!

For better or worse, expectations of LSU have absolutely been lowered from the past. Thus, we certainly have a better opportunity to exceed those expectations.

That said, and it’s really a theoretical debate, at what point does it become a problem that overall expectations - whether locally or nationally - have been lowered in the first place and what events/actions/inactions led to that.

Could you imagine how filthy this team would be with Miles as coach?

When Les has had a quarterback, the offense has been more than formidable.

Les coaching with Jamarcus, Flynn and Mett were all exciting offenses to watch. Combine an offense with a legit QB (God willing) with this defense and another 2011 type run isn't that farfetched.

Then again, that was a coach who lost a single regular season OOC game in 11.33 seasons, and it was to a top-10 team that was two close losses away from being in the playoff.

I can't say I have the same faith in the coach who managed to lose to Troy and had a record-breaking loss to Moo State. I hope he turns it around and makes Troy look like UAB does to Saban, but until I see it I'm not overly confident.

ETA: Hell, Miles coached the GOAT LSU football team with Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson combining for 17 pass attempts per game.

Maybe Miami is SEC good under Richt, but I expect LSU to beat any ACC team not named Clenson (and would at least expect to be competitive against them). That includes all of Jimbo's FSU teams icluding his NC team.

If I recall we were the only other team to beat the team they played in the NC that year, and we did it far more convincingly.

Maybe I'm naive, but if Les were coach I'd expect a 41-3 type result. Under O, I still expect a win but margin of victory is anyone's guess.

I agree with that. At the same time, great chance for all the haters to bet the under. I'll be all over the over.

Lsu had some big wins under miles, but let's not act like Les didn't allow lots of teams to remain in games close, when they shouldn't have.

Miles left a flawed roster. I think it was fair to let the new coach (whoever that was) have a couple years to retool the trenches. We should start to see evidence of that this year, and we should see an improved and more dynamic offense. If so, then I’ll be ok with O’s progress. If not..

I love this team but the biggest thing this team has to overcome this upcoming season is our schedule. I would say we win 10 games easily if we had last year's schedule with this team. This year's defense will be so much better especially up front on the Dline. Our offense even without Guice should be better due hopefully to the fact that the deep threat is an option now. We play 6 teams ranked in the top 25 this year and trust me Texas a&m and Florida will be better. I am very optimistic but we play some really good teams this year so we shall see and

Most underrated team and QB in the NCAA. Arguably the most talent in the country

By Oct, this team will be top 3/5 and Burrow will be a top 3 Heisman candidate.

This is shaping up to be a very special season.

SEC Network gives us no chance. For them it’s all about GA, Bama, and Moo State. The barn isn’t even in their discussion.

But pre-season chatter means very little. Teams surprise and disappoint every year. I like our Tigers to win 9-10. Hopefully we build from there!
