Well, we took it to those cowards in Pittsburgh to win the title, so, I guess we're undefeated in finals, though.

Prediction: Virginia Tech 68, LSU 65. Virginia Tech (+1.5) covers the spread, with the game going UNDER the total (134.5).

Kenny Brooks and the Hokies continue their magical run this year and squeak out a close win.

I think most people don't realize that LSU Basketball is a combined 0-11 in Final Four games all time.

The Lady Tigers finished 1-1 in 1977.

LSU is an underdog against Va Tech on Friday, as well.

I think LSU's lack of success in Final Four semis is just bad luck-- usu. they're decided underdogs going into the Final Four (men's 1986, 2006) or just suffered a disabling key injury-- Rudy Macklin in 1981.

It’s Woodys fault. Im told, he made the program suck again and fired the greatest basketball, the next Saban, if you will. McNeese will win championships, just watch.

Dale’s ‘81 team could have/should have won it

I was a student then. Could have, not should have, As much as I loved that team, and they were very good, that team overachieved. But as to how they played, that was probably Dale's best coaching job.

They were the quintessential Dale Brown team, IMO. the general consensus for people there around my age was that Dale overachieved when he had good to maybe very good talent, and underwhelmed when he had great to exceptional talent. He was a better motivator than a coach.

I believe it is because we collectively crown their arse once they win the regional,

Every winner of a Regional, including those that have gone on to win a NC, cuts down the nets and receives a trophy for winning the Regional. Were their asses “crowned prematurely”?

This is a dumbass take.

The Shaq , Roberts and Jackson team were no threat at all. They were individual talents with no team chemistry . Did you not see the 2000 and 2006 teams? They were much better teams.

I would say that the 80-81 team was the best I recall in terms of team chemistry but I guess I was thinking in terms of team talent, which is probably a flawed perspective in retrospect.

The 2005-2006 team was fun, but if I am totally honest, they surprised me with half games they won in the tournament. Though I thought they could have beaten UCLA, Florida had already beaten them convincingly twice that season. They weren't beating Florida.

The 1999-2000 team was good, they weren't winning the tournament either. What those teams had in common was a very good coach, probably the best Xs & Os coach LSU had in my lifetime. And I say that as a guy who was not a big John Brady fan, but he definitely grew on me and I think I like him more in retrospect than I did at the time. His time in the booth has certainly helped him with me and I think a lot of LSU fans.

Never liked him as LSU coach. Mark Kriegel portrays him as an a-hole in his Maravich biography—accurately, I think.

But yes, John Brady is a great color man on the LSU radio broadcasts. He’s articulate, funny, informative, and of course brings a unique perspective as a former LSU head coach.

If they play like they played against Miami, LSU will be 0-12.

Y’all act like I’m hating when what I posted is factual. I posted this information in hopes of finally breaking the curse fwiw. It’s peculiar to me that the fanbase remains hungry with regards to championships in baseball and football, but seems satisfied with just making it to the final 4.

That 2004 and 2008 final four games against Tennessee were gut wrenching losses. I remember those well I thought we were going to win both of those games.
