Just curious but, is ANYONE else also reporting this other than KRogers?

agree. He went to Omaha in his first season with someone else's talent 2016 49-24 (.671) then went 2017 38-21 (.644), 2018 34-22 (.607), 2019 32-24 (.571). He fell off ever year after except this year.

So he won coach of the year in his last season at his last two programs but falls off?
He may suck for us, but on the surface this looks like a good hire.

Now please tell us how he is going to improve our pedestrian pitching that we’ve had for a while now under Paul.
Pedestrian pitching doesnt look as pedestrian with better at bats.

Good luck to him , may he be highly successful.
But my first reaction was from a decades ago Steve Allen routine , but I digress .

So what you’re saying is he almost won a championship with the talent someone else underachieved with and then he built another CWS team out of his own players?

Pitching still wins champions.
I do agree though, it will be nice to have an actual plan and approach at the plate for once. Actually work counts and maybe go the other way. That will be a nice change.
We really do need to get much better at developing talent. Our recruiting classes haven’t been the issue under Paul, it’s what we’ve done with the players once they’ve gotten on campus.

Will be interesting about Yeskie. Tigers or Ags?

I want to see who he hires to coordinate his recruiting
This. Seems like the dude can coach em up, especially hitting. But what will make or break him will be his recruiting and who he hires as pitching coach

I was wondering the same thing. When is LSU going to make this official? Just wondering. Will they not make it official until the contract is finalized?

Maybe a release tomorrow, press conference in a few days?

If you bought in to the "hoopla" that's on you.

Anyone concerned he missed regionals two years between two cws appearances?
Since he didn’t recruit those upperclassmen, not really. He probably wouldn’t have gotten the job if the cupboard were full. He got everything out of the upperclassmen who were recruited around 2012.

This seems like a keep things going in the same direction hire instead of an elevate our program to another level hire
Except they were poor to middling in the three years before he took over.

I dont think a west coast lifer is going to do well here
Yeah it was really sad how Saban could only recruit in Ohio and Michigan and our dumbasses hired him anyway.

That west coast lifer statement is stupid. Augie made Cal State and then succeeded at Texas
