Ya see the problem is, they would have to pay up big time for a receiver that would be wr1 here. I don't see them getting a wr1 from the portal. Why not try and keep CJ Daniel's over going elsewhere to get a guy every money team who needs a receiver will be after? They've proven in the past, they can't pay what these other schools can.

Both these guys are in the portal.
Someone gave Cook a mention on twitter to come ball with Nuss and he replied “tell them to call me”
JJ Harrell from MS State
Johntay Cook from Texas

What about the defensive line that can actually get a push? You're DB are as good as the pass rush.

Jamar was elite in his second bud !

Aaron Anderson can be that if we feature him correctly. I think we need one more guy though.

but a day one starter WR that can stretch the field would be up there.
I think we already have that type of WR on the team..you saw it the last game with Hilton. The guy is coming off of injury after injury. Let's see what he can do with a full off season of work, and staying healthy

People often completely forget about him. It’s probably because he’s overshadowed by Jamarr and Justin and also because he opted out in the middle of the 2020 season.
he also missed several games in 2019 with a broken foot. Had he played all 15 games, he may have very well been a 1000 yard receiver as well

also would be nice to have some size to him....Isn't Anderson pretty short?

keep CJ Daniel's
a very solid possession rec. I don't see him as a #1.....also, Anderson made great strides, but isn't he 5'8"?

One thing I've learned in my many years on this earth, is that history often repeats itself. When you look at OM (I know he was one of if not the best out there) their offense was average once he kept going in and out with injury all year.

Kentucky has an elite wr in the portal we could get

It nobody's fault but the staff. You can't expect guys to develop sitting on the bench. There's no reason why highly touted guys like Spears and Kylin Jackson shouldn't be prepared to play significant roles going in the year 2 and year 3.
Spears, Sampson, Jackson, Womack, Jaxson Howard, Ju'Juan Johnson, Jalen Brown, etc..there's an evaluation problem, development problem, or they're just not getting playing time. Remember how long it took to get Whit Weeks on the field last season.

I like Anderson but because of his size, I don’t think he could have the effect on the game of Chase, Jefferson, Nabers or Thomas. All of those guys had the size to go over people and make big catches along with all their other attributes, that’s being elite. I do still think Anderson can be very effective in the capacity of how he was used this year.

I think WR is a necessity, because everyone is forgetting about Kyle Parker. I also am still holding out hope that Daniels doesn't leave.
Yes on Parker; maybe he is that guy, but Daniels? I hope he stays, because he is a reliable receiver. But he is a WR3 at best. There is zero explosiveness with him. He is not a guy who is a terror after the catch, nor is he a guy who will reliably win the battles on deep hump balls.

Terrace Marshal was pretty damn good and was an important part of the 2019 national championship team. He was a monster that year.
Your first sentence? Yes. A monster? Well, Jetts, Chase, Nabors and Thomas were monsters. Marshal was never quite in that league, and you are seeing it in the pros. He’s good, but NFL teams are not game planning to stop him the way they are those other guys.
If I had to choose between CJ Daniels and Marshal it would be a tossup. Those are WR3s on a great receiving corps.

if Nuss stays we need a summer of 10,000 catches.
This was oversold bullshite. The reason that WR group was so great in 2019 is because they were great. The “summer of 10,000 catches” wasn’t invented in 2019. WRs had been doing that since the jugs machine was invented. Of course it’s a good idea, and it should be done every years by every receiver who is serious about his craft; just as they should all workout and eat right.

Francis will be the next Jamar Chase BOOK IT

If Hilton can be himself next year, Anderson keeps getting better, and we get a big name WR from the portal, Nuss could do some major damage next year in the air.
