It's a shame. We are one of the top 7 most talented teams in the country. It's insane how far an inferior coaching staff can drag you down.

Yes, we have some talent but it's not evenly distributed. Even a rosy cheeked optimist wouldn't make the argument that we're in the Top 10 in talent. We have no evidence that we are talented at the most important position on the field: quarterback. We have no proven talent at running back and not much depth. We may be talented at wide receiver but it's not experienced or proven.
We're thin at defensive back. I am not sure that we're that talented on the offensive line either and it's not an experienced group.
It's anybody's guess whether we will be productive on offense.

Here is my view:

There is cause for optimism and pessimism. It’s easier to see the negatives in part because the pulse of the message board fans is that Orgeron is in over his head. Everyone has that concern but most people are not absolutely, 100% convinced of it the way the majority of ranters are. But we are thin at defensive back, we have the worst running backs in the SEC, there is no real evidence that our perpetual QB problem will be fixed and we have lost our luster among the top recruits.

That being said, our front 7 on defense looks nasty, our offensive line looks to be very good and we have oodles of talent at WR and TE.

The pessimist thinks Ensminger is unqualified. The optimist thinks he did a fairly decent job in 2016 (better than Canada).

IF we stay healthy in the secondary and IF one of the QBs can step up and play somewhere between Mettenberger and Etling, we certainly can surprise some people and go 10-2. On the flip side, IF the QBs are no better than Etling and if we have injuries in the secondary, we could have a really rough season given how stacked the SEC West is and that we have Georgia, Florida and Miami on the schedule out of the division.

Like most rational people, I will enjoy my summer and hope to see the optimistic version play out in the fall.

Well it is much harder to clime if teams ahead of you don't lose.

And let's be real, these polls do have influence over the committee. They are human and see the rankings every week if they are actually watching games.

I think this team could miss a bowl this season if we don't see a competent QB emerge.

We could legitimately be 3-6 going into Arkansas.

We are in the top 10 of talent. The rankings show a very strong correlation.

LSU just once again was one of the schools with most draft picks. Will be again next year too.

How sorry we will be in 18 will prove how underdeveloped our players are. This isn’t all on O but he hasn’t done anything to make it better either.

People need to watch what they post, Saban is going to use it for recruiting.
Orgeron needs to watch how he coaches. Saban is going to use it against LSU in recruiting.

Three of their losses came against Bama, UGA, and Auburn. Their fourth loss came against OM after their star QB suffered a gruesome leg injury.

They also kicked our shite in.

Because this thread is what's going to make Saban the greatest recruiter of all time. We're all fricked now.

The excuses for Miles season after season could probably be counted on one hand. In just O's upcoming second full season, they could fill a second binder.

I'm sig quoting the shite out of this.

qb
its on the coach if he cant find a qb out of the multiple 4 star qbs that are on the roster because it was on the last HC.
rb
its on the hc if he cant find a rb out of the multiple 4 star rbs on the roster
cb
we have one of the most talented secondaries in cfb.

its on the hc if we have no depth.

If Miami ( Fla) ends up being a top 10 team to start the season, then the Tigers can make a big splash by winning their first game.

Isn't us dropping out of the Top 25 a good thing for the folks who want O gone?

This is a general statement and I'm not sure this directly applies to you.

I love seeing stuff like this, but at the same time I also see people say "don't hate on Orgeron because you have no idea how the season will play out."
