Coleman, edwards if he is okay, and hellmers are all potential starters, but agreed we need 1 or 2 top of the line arms

cant imagine morgan not playing first base next year
Prob
But fill these spots with these players:
Dugas, Arnold, Morgan, Joubert, Digiacomo, Bianco, Drost
LF:
CF:
1B:
DH:
I think if Morgan goes to CF you can maximize your offensive capabilities

I dont know enough about joubert,
But there is a logjam. Arnold is an infielder. Dugas could be as well. Outfield is bianco/crews/drost
Mahbe crews in center.
Not sure about gio, he is hard to gauge if he can get better with good coaching

I don't think this team is as talented as some of y'all think. It also hinges on who leaves and who comes back. I think Dugas is gone and so is Hilliard. Our Pitching is not looking promising in the bullpen next year. We would need to see quite a few guys take a rather large leap in development for the bullpen to get comfortable. Hard to say what you get from freshman too especially if the draft fricks us.

Please be more specific.
Do you know anything about the incoming class? There are some difference makers coming in.

I was ok with your post until I got to your #5, which just blew my mind.

Tre Morgan saved countless runs at 1st this year, is the best 1st baseman in college baseball and it’s not even close, and you suggest he move to the OF?
Finally somebody said it on the national TV today. Not sure which one during our game but one of em said he was the best in the country.

I don’t think Dugas is an inf, if he can’t really play LF.
They have a kid coming in from Dutchtown by way of LSUE, Jack Merrifield. 6’2” 189. He plays all the infield positions, but mainly 2B.
In 127 games over 2.5seasons
.399/483/592
12 hr
153 rbi
28 SB
51:37 BB:K
Completely fricked with that level of pitching.
Also there is Conor Simon from St Paul’s that will challenge for playing time once healed from an arm injury

If you'd go back to days of old, providing this kind of information and leaving all the extra sass at home, you could totally redeem yourself here, Lester.

Arnold is an infielder.
People are all over Thompson for his defense at SS, but Arnold, to me, was the one that looked like a fish out of water at 2B.
I think Thompson sticks at SS rather easily but to me I’m not sure Arnold is an INF. He could probably transition to the OF seamlessly but again, there is a jam there.
I like what he did with the bat most of the year. He’s the type of kid that hits 7th on a really good team. Has power, he’s athletic, can run. Uses all fields.

Ideally he could dh if you could get drost in right or left field

Why are people not liking Morgan at first? I thought he was great, especially for a young player.
Posted on 6/13/21 at 10:22 pm to Lester Earl
Next years team will go as far as our pitchers take us, and we obviously don’t have elite pitching. If we make it to the super regional again it will be an accomplishment.

Dylan Crews moving to Catcher?
That may the dumbest thing I’ve ever read on this board

Thompson defensively at the end of the season was Bianco offensively at the start. Guy needs reps, guy needs confidence. But I’m certain he is a starting SS caliber guy. He has good power as well. I’m not sure all the criticism of him is unfair, but I don’t think there is a reason to believe another freshman in coming along and replacing him there.
Posted on 6/13/21 at 10:27 pm to Mats86
Yea he came in expecting to play 2B or 3rd. Kinda got thrust into SS. Get 10k reps this offseason & he’ll be ready to go. Showed enough with the bat, as he learns the strike zone will only improve. Can hit in the 8-9 hole next season
Posted on 6/13/21 at 10:29 pm to Lester Earl
I think Thompson stays at SS. Simon or Arnold seem like the most likely 2B but Bianco could be that person if he returns.
One thing is for sure this lineup looks very very similar to Tennessee in 2020 with pretty much everyone coming back.

There’s no level of defense behind the plate that can justify having someone hitting in the mid 100’s in the lineup
