What type of defense does Odom coach—O wanted 4-3 all the way

So let me get this straight....

Or, Orgeron still wanted to hire him after he took the Arky job, but Odom said no.

I will forever appreciate what last years team was able to accomplish, but no managerial decision Ed has made leaves me with any confidence that he can sustain this. Brady was a stud who fell into his lap thanks to Payton and he left after one year. Every other hire... dogshit. Name one good hire Ed has made.

I don't believe this reporting, but it was expected that Aranda was going to leave and if you remember was close to taking the UNLV job in December. LSU probably was formulating lists of candidates around that time.

I’m not saying I doubt Odom was on a list of candidates. But I am saying I doubt that LSU “went all in” on him given the timing.

This I could believe. But it would have been a long shot at that point anyway, considering the bridges Odom would have had to burn.

What’s so hard to believe that we offered Odom after he took the Arkansas job and he turned it down? That seems very believable. I don’t know what “the timing” has to do with anything.

Oh yes 100% I agree. If that were true arkansas would've paid him more.

Name one good hire Ed has made.

He also hired Bill Busch and he delivered Joe Burrow.

He also hired the OL coach and our OL won the award for best OL in the country. Cushenberry and Damien Lewis are dominating in the pros so clearly not just a product of playing on our historic team last year.

No way this is true.

That would make Barry Odom a complete moron.

Pate doesn’t know shite. He just spouts opinions.
Odum was hired in the middle of December by Arkansas when LSU didn’t have an opening.

Odum is paid half of what Bo makes. So if Orgeron made a run at him, Odum is very principled to stick with the Hogs and turn down another million.

We're giving O credit for the guy that worked under Aranda twice before coming here? The LSU release on his hire even quoted only Aranda.

I don't see any reason for anyone to make this up..

Perhaps Odom actually honored his contract.. who knows his reasonings.. Maybe he can address it sometime.

Even if this is true, no way Pelini should have been his second option.

Surrrreee. Cause O just had to settle for Bo and we should feel bad for him that he went for the great guy, but he turned him down.

This is pathetic.

How do you know this? Everything he says is just his opinion based on hearsay and the 247 network. It's a rumor vlog and nothing more. Preseason, he told us that D'wan Mathis was balling out in Georgia practices, the coaches were wowed and he was the future. Oh no. Wrong!!

Its still not outside the realm of possibility that O went after Odom regardless of him already being at Arkansas

O may have tried, but no coach who wants to keep a decent reputation would leave an SEC DC job for a school in the same division of the same conference without coaching a down. This is especially true for someone in Odom’s position. Remember that the man just crashed and burned at his alma mater and was fired. That has a way of reminding a guy that success is never guaranteed and your next gig as a DC is just around the corner. If this was out there, it would have been a bad move on his part.
