LSU football linebacker TJ Dottery is off to a blazing start in 2026. According to PFF, Dottery is the top-graded linebacker in college football through Week 2. Dottery's 94.8 defensive grade is two points better than the No. 2-graded LB.

Per PFF, Dottery has made seven stops, forced two fumbles, and notched a pass breakup. Dottery has been effective as a blitzer, recording seven pressures and one QB hit.
So far, Dottery is a perfect fit for Blake Baker's scheme. Dottery has the explosiveness and speed to be an effective blitzer up the middle, and he looks like he's improved his ability to fit the run, too.

The LSU defense has passed every test so far, holding Clemson and Louisiana Tech to a combined 285 yards.

What’s really impressive is a lot of the 285 yds has come off of the 2nd and 3rd string defense.

all we heard all off season is how garbage he was. dont believe your eyes, or the stats that said he led the SEC in tackles... he sucks according to Ole PIss fans
turns out that was just sour grapes. maybe having to be on the field nearly 1000 snaps last season took its toll and affected his play?

First team defense has given up zero points through 2 games. Technically 3, but that was due to a pick on our end of the field where they then forced a 3 and out
