30 football players in the bar were causing such an issue they had to close the whole bar down and kick everyone out. After bar was closed they started fight in parking lot.

the rumors are getting more and more exaggerated... will be interesting to see what's true. This remind me a lot of the RP situation at the Varsity (less the guns).

Some of you people are absurd. It doesn't matter if the victim was drunk, yelled the 'n' word at them, etc etc as long as it wasn't physical. It doesn't matter why they beat him, assault is assault.

This can easily be twisted by a lawyer to be considered assault. Trust me on this one.

Oh! Gee! I shouldn't press charges because I won't be "popular". Right!

Considering you live in Oregon and this went down in LA. Cops in LA always ask you if you want to press charges after a bar fight. Most male students know that since a majority of us get into fights.

It's a question to see how compliant you will be with LEA. Also in minor altercations some police will note that and a DA will no file it because it's not worth the resources for petty crap.

I would sure hope that my state would be the one. It'd be fricked up if NY petitioned me.

I was saying this in reference to the state presses the charges. A criminal case will not state Joe Blow vs. perp.

obviously you don't know the law....just because you throw a punch doesn't mean you committed a crime.

you can shoot someone in the face and not have committed a crime

I find it funny that, now that you've been called out as clearly clueless by many people (some of whom make more than you), you are now backtracking like a good little crawfish.

To REMIND YOU, here's what you said back on Page 11:

Oh clam.........You want to play semantics now........That's cute........My bad.

You were right.

I've made my point........Only people who are dumb, not hurt, or of extreme faith refuse medical attention.

On the other hand, those who want medical attention but refuse ambulance rides........may have an emergency.

Is that better? And you probably don't make more money than me. I like how you said that earlier.

Cliff notes please?

-There was a fight.
-Several LSU players involved.
-JJ specifically named, likely due to high recognizability (not a real word).
-Bzoner says he knows the guy, and dude was completely innocent just minding his own business before getting Reginald Denny'd by LSU players for no reason at all.
-Several people are cheering the concept of JJ and other players getting suspended

The police have ask "do you want to press chargers"

The police often ask if you want to press charges because they don't want to waste the state's time (or city/parish's time in this case) prosecuting cases where the victim has no interest in seeing the perpetrator be punished for the crime.

It is then up to the state (or city/parish) to determine if they want to press charges anyway.

So yes, technically, the government is the only one with the power to press criminal charges but they often won't press charges in small matters unless the victim wants them to.

It's hard to believe somebody was basically ambushed by a mob, beaten severely, and left laying, yet decided to just get up and go home rather than wait for medical help and/or cops.

I can't say 100% it didn't happen, but damn that doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
