I think a bunch of people on ESPN and other places have all commented on the end of the game and the mistake made. Maybe you just think it's worse than it is when it's about your team.

I'd be willing to bet USC is worse.

USC is a bunch of old rich folk that don't have much of a FB IQ. They usually stay pretty quiet regardless of what's going on.
As you all know Cliff Harris is suspended and it appears starting Middle Linebacker Kiko Alonso will not play either as he was wearing a scout team jersey at Saturday's practice. Kiko is a HUGE loss and will prob hurt Oregon more than Cliff since we have very little depth behind him.

An easier route would be if it's found the our boy lowery fabricated the story.....

I think if the story was a total fabrication it would have been well known by this point with witnesses, etc.

Remember JJ lied to his dad about his whereabouts the night of the fight so I doubt this is a total fabrication.

They are preparing for a game this late?? I'm sure they've been watching lots of film at least.

They've been watching film but Chip never starts implementing the game plan for the next opponent until the first day of practice the week of the game. regardless of time off.

what did you want them to do?

kick them out?

YES

is there a news bulletin printed to all local establishments detailing dates and times of curfew for athletes?
Oregon hasn't started implementing their strategy for LSU. Fall camp broke yesterday and first day of implementing game plan is tomorrow.

So private attorneys never do pro bono work

They do but it can be an issue if they have to prove the athlete wasn't granted an extra benefit. If someone always offers pro bono work to athletes but not regular students it would be hard for them to show it's not an extra benefit for being an athlete.

It isnt common practice for a lawyer to bail you out and charge you it in the fee you owe him? If you already have a lawyer?

never been arrested

If bail was 5k the bond was probably 500. The atty has probably already received a retainer from the players family and could have paid it out of that retainer.
quote:

Why is everyone so concerned over who is paying the attorneys, etc?

People have a right to representation, whether or not they can afford it. The NCAA is not powerful enough to get in the middle of this, I don't care what LSU says. Murderers and child molesters get free attorneys all the time. Whether or not these players pay or don't pay their attorney is nobody's business. Especially since they are likely no longer LSU players.

Because people who cannot afford an atty get an atty assigned to them from the public defenders office which is usually made up of newer attys in the field.

If the players are being represented by private atty's the NCAA will want to know how they are being paid because private atty's are not available to everyone where as public defenders are.

read the report like most on here have. he is actually correct in that statement. seriously, arrest could have been made at that time. whats retarded is you posting this

thats not what I meant, I mean that's retarded they both got charged on such flimsy evidence

I think if this was an incident that didn't involve LSU in any way you wouldn't think documented injuries and two different people providing an account of events was "flimsy". All it takes for an arrest is probable cause. It does not mean guilt.
We're thinking we are in a lose lose situation now. We either beat an LSU team playing with their back ups or we lost to an LSU team playing with their back ups. If Oregon won by 60 it might get some good pub, otherwise see above.

funny how we spin this.

Who's to say Oregon doesn't circle the wagons around Cliff?

Or the whole Willie Lyles saga.

If either team needs something like this to happen to get them fired up to play then they have way more issues than what's transpired over the off season.
quote:

Are we certain these charges originated from a grand jury?

Generally charges are filed and then the case is presented to grand jury at a later date. Usually within a week of arrest and arraignment.
quote:

This is just absurd, the BRPD has given nothing that would lead any common person that they have evidence which would result in any conviction. It is nearly as though they are arresting now to save face to put the burden of a PR nightmare on the DA so the DA looks bad when they have to drop the charges.

May have come from the stuff they confiscated.
If the determine he was trying to influence the team mate's testimony then it would be an ethical issues which can be ignored if it was made public without action.
quote:

i thought his infraction occurred before we were put on probation so we were in the clear on that one?

The presser said it was because he conferred with a team mate about things before a meeting.

those are sick. only improvement would be getting rid of the fairy wings.

Not many Oregon fnas like the wings. When they first designed the Unis a few years ago they didn't have wings on them. While still in testing the fabric used for the jerseys is so thin that they shoulder's kept ripping so they started putting the wings on there to keep them from shredding.

Can someone please tell me the difference between Blount and JJ??? JJ allegedly kicked a man in the face while he was down; Blount snuck a man after a game. I applauded chip Kelly for his punishment even though it was Blount’s "SENIOR" year. You don't act like animals and this has to be taught. I think the same punishment should be handed to Jefferson if proven guilty. Suspend him for the season but allow him to practice on the scout team, and if he only gets in the final game of the year for a few snaps, then so be it!

I was at that Boise St. game when Blount threw the punch. (Not a safe walk getting out of the stadium wearing a ducks jersey to say the least). Two things though, One the player who got hit came up and taunted Blount (I don't think this is an excuse for Blount, and I think Blount got what he deserved). Sucker punching a guy though is a lot different than kicking a downed person. One you can do way more damamge to someone with a kick to the head, and 2 if the guy is already down on the ground theres no need to kick him in the head.
quote:

Listen up, brah.

The OP said that her daughter's friends said he was being the peacemaker and wasn't involved in the fight.

Ergo, he wouldn't be charged.

Now, you can call bull shite on the story but don't misinterpret what he said.

It's somebody's story. It may be true or it may be bull shite. The police will do their best to sort it out.

In the meantime, the Ducks can prepare to face all 3 of our QBs. Lesticles is a crazy mofo like that.

Said that most people know that and she said Jordan would probably not be charged with anything

That's not the detective saying what her daughter said. That's her saying JJ wasn't going to be charged.
quote:

She didnt say anything about the case only what their daughter told them

Reread the bottom. She's stating the Jordan wouldn't be charged because he was a peace maker
