But he probably should have went somewhere else, like Duke or Kansas.
again, the ONLY reason he came to LSU is that his godfather was on the coaching staff. If that wasn't the case, he would never have come here.

by all means bring up 1 instance and act like thats the norm.
Marquette and Oklahoma were the two glaring examples, and there are probably many others not quite as obvious.

I'll never forget the OU game because Vitale and Musberger were begging (BEGGING!!) Simmons to step up, but he didn't.

And Vitale, as we all know, blows players - so for Dickie V to so openly criticize Simmons, you know it was something big.

Anyone who hates on Simmons is a buffoon.

He had one of the best seasons for a freshman in ages. He played team basketball. He was coached by a clueless coach who quit giving a frick about his own alma mater

He didn't improve our basketball team, that's for sure.

We were better the year before.

A lot of his downfall had to do with CJJ, I get that.

I don't like how he doesn't care about LSU, called his time here "useless," says "they used me."

He certainly doesn't "represent" LSU.

He will be a very good NBA player. I don't wish harm on him, but I certainly will not root for him the same way I cheered for Chris Jackson, Shaq, Garrett Temple, Brandon Bass, Jarell Martin, Tim Quarterman, etc.

You are remedial.

One and done means he would have never been at LSU at all.

I guess you would rather have a great player never come to LSU instead of having him for a year. Checks out.

It was useless time. I 110% agree with him. He should have been in the NBA. All of these 1 and dones should be in the NBA. Marvin Bagley has zero business being in college.

You aren't getting anything out of school. Hell, most of them probably quit going to classes after the fall semester. Why would you bother if you know you are out of there in a year?

He didn't want to go to college period. He gained nothing from it but a risk of injury. The college gets a ton out of it. Best player in the country marketing. Get fans viewing / going to games.

They do use athletes all the time, especially one and dones.

then you should go talk to the NBA, because it's their rule.

Which is about to change. Facts are still facts though.

Regardless of it being an NBA rule, colleges still use the one and done's. Ben Simmons wasn't wrong about that. If the rule isn't changed, Id rather see the one and done's go to the Euroleague.

He was booed last night at the pelicans game. I know he was a visiting player but being a former lsu athlete he would have gotten a little ovation.

Simmons wasn't really wrong about anything he said. College is pointless for 1 semester and a couple of months following into the spring.

That guy will never represent LSU. Only in to himself. He’s forgotten. 15 Year’s from now, he’ll want a college family and regret that.

which is completely the player's choice, even now.

Colleges aren't making players come to school. It's the NBA's rule, and the players decide whether to go to college or play overseas for a year.

Look, I don't like the one-and-done rule either, but my perspective is that is hurts the college game. I really don't care at all about the NBA.

Some would argue the top level NCAA talent is still better than some Eurotrash league. Not to mention publicity, not having to uproot your life and move across the globe, etc etc

How dont you understand the hate for a player that totally took a shite on our university and didn't even have enough heart to finish his only season.

Didn't have enough heart to even try to win for LSU when given the chance. I will never forget the Oklahoma game where he had the ball in his hand with the game on the line and then passed the ball in to someone else to try and win the game instead of the supposed star of the team. 3.5 seconds left and our star was the only player not past half court when the final shot was made.
