I’d imagine many of the LSU fans that went to the game are traveling back today.

For those of you who went, other than the piss poor game, how was the trip and the “Rose Bowl experience?” The scenery the broadcast showed of the mountains in the background looked really awesome.

Even though Wisconsin obliterated LSU, I had still had a good time in Green Bay and being in Lambeau was pretty amazing.

Very similar to Greeen Bay. Great trip, bad game.
Unique setting. Stadium is primarily historic and not overly impressive in stature due to its age. Pasadena is really cool and nice place. A lot of money parked there.

I met Chicken at Barney’s. Possibly the highlight of my trip.

Wow. In Southern Cali and meeting that doofus was the highlight of your trip. You need to get out more. Just saying. I’m just kidding but Chicken is a dork.

Thousands of lightsabers moving in time with the music..John Williams at the Hollywood Bowl was a lot of fun...

Hollywood Bowl Friday night

I met Chicken as well and got my coozie...

As was earlier stated, great trip, crappy game...

Absolutely loved the shuttle bus system both for the concert and the game...LSU and Baton Rouge could learn a few things...

The stadium itself...I liked the concession stands on the outside, never knew it was built in a valley and that you can't walk under the stands like you do at Tiger Stadium...but didn't like only one large video screen and no updates from other games going on

My wife and I were here in LA (Culver City) to see our daughter, so we did not actually go to the game. Allowing for the fact that people value different things, this is the best place in the western half of the world - maybe the whole world. That’s based on geography and climate.

Because it’s such a great place it attracts the weirdos who value that above everything else. That makes the politics left of Russia in 1917. But the food and entertainment is among the best I’ve ever seen. In the winter there are ski mountains within a 90 minute drive, and of course the beach is always right there.

Right now, my wife and I are having Philz Coffee on the Culver Steps. We are wearing light jackets and shorts. It’s about 67 degrees. Even last night - Sunday - the street crowds of outdoor diners with live music was fantastic. Today we are going to drive up the coast to Malibu just to sightsee the ocean and the real estate.

Like any big city, the people can seem rude, but they’re not. Yesterday we ran into a guy at a store who had a python around his neck. He chatted about it with my wife and I got a picture of her with the python around her neck (inB4: your wife handled that guy’s snake). Everyone we’ve talked to has been very nice.

Tl;dr - It’s a beautiful place and culture that is ruining itself with Marxist politics. A great place to visit, but I would not want to live there.

The one thing that surprised all us guys using the mens’ bathroom is that there weren’t any urinals. Just stalls.

Didn’t wear a mask the entire time I was at the rose bowl. Not even to walk in. I was pleasantly surprised. But that was some of the worst football I’ve seen an LSU squad play. Just embarrassing.

I took my 11 year old and we a great time. It was his first LSU game and we loved everything except the outcome. It’s such a shame the band didn’t go.

We met TBob, Andrew Whitworth, and Tommy Lee; all of which were cool. Pasadena was beautiful, but other parts of L.A. (Hollywood Walk of Fame) were completely underwhelming. And the traffic was as bad as people said it would be

The game itself was what is was, everything outside of that play on field was stellar and one of my favorite road trips actually. It was cool to be in a historic venue with a phenomenal view - the way they have the concourse surrounding it gives lots of room for exploring, lots of golf course tailgaters outside that. UCLA fans I met were all very friendly. Pasadena is a nice area with lots to see and do walking around, though many bars were at capacity. I’d definitely love to go the Rose Bowl game even more one day.

Overall, it measured up to all I wanted except taking the L. After the last few years though, I don’t let that spoil my good time.

I liked the rose bowl and thought pasadena was a cool place. Wish i had more time to check out restaurants and bars. Got my td koozie! Def recommend using Burbank airport instead of LAX. It’s about the same size as BR airport or Jackson airoirt. Very easy to get in and out of there vs Lax.

Great Trip. Really good food, pleasant weather. Enjoyed being in the Rose Bowl. I think we had just as many fans as them. Their band was pitiful. Sat in UCLA section. They were pretty cool. Would do it again. O was outcoached. I don't want to hear anymore bs about how 'tremendous" everyone/thing is. He needs to shut up until he wins.

Still here!

Flew in last Wednesday. Saw a Dodgers’ game, toured Warner Studios, Griffith Observatory, Santa Monica pier, caught an Angels game and a Padres game. Going to check out San Diego today and flying out tomorrow.

Thus far, everything has been exceptional, but that disaster of a game Saturday! Rose Bowl is historic but is showing its age. No concessions inside, very narrow corridors leading in and out of the seating areas, a couple of small video boards. The setting is really beautiful and the shuttle system getting in and out was quite impressive. $18 to park the car and ride the shuttle for three of us was really reasonable.

This trip has been eerily similar to the Green Bay trip. Saw the Cubs play and Brewers play, toured Chicago and Lambeau. Then LSU and Les Miles tried to steal my joy with that game. Everything was great, except the game.

I’m sitting in LAX right now.

My flight boards in 35 minutes.

My wife and I had a great time in Los Angeles, as it was her first time.

The game sucked, but getting to spend time with her at Santa Monica, Mulholland Drive, the Hollywood Bowl, and Hollywood and Vine was priceless.

The only regret I have is spending money on premier seats. Probably could have saved $200 or more and sat in the endzone. If LSU would have won, it would have been worth it, but 40 yard line seats for a big loss? Not good.

With the exception of witnessing a disappointing loss, the trip has been a blast. Came in with 6 fraternity brothers from our days at LSU in the late 70’s. That alone made the trip memorable. We stayed in Marina del Rey which has a cool vibe. Rented beach cruiser bikes on Fri and Sun to cruise the beaches from Manhattan Beach 10 miles one direction to Venice Beach only a mile and the Sunset strip, pub crawling along the way. Pretty cool, hip vibe to the whole scene if you are into people watching. Bar and restaurant scene was excellent. Found people here to be laid back and quite nice.

Pasadena on game day also really cool area. Though the bars were NOT prepared for the LSU fan onslaught. Had seating capacity limits with lines to get in most bars. Rose Bowl itself was showing its age. Outside of the view against the mountains, it really was really underwhelming. Did not have that same “walking on hallowed ground” vibe that we had at Lambeau Field for the Wisconsin game a few years back.

Overall, a memorable experience, but a crappy game.

It was a fun trip except the L.

Rose Bowl was a nice venue but was over hyped. UCLA fans were good sports.

Downtown Pasadena was cool but places were packed had staffing issues at a lot of bars/restaurants before the game.

Love the shuttle system they had to/from game very efficient. LSU should have something like that to help traffic flow.

Traffic/Uber was a pain. Takes a very long time to get anywhere even just a few miles away. Couldn’t explore as much of LA since you couldn’t get anywhere quickly.

How many of you had to jump the gate up that hill when you were leaving for the bars?
