re: LSU fanbase turns on Les Miles

one of my biggest pet peeves is this right here
when saban used the "catastrophe syndrome" line he was DISMISSING the irrational thinking of the common LSU fan because common fans don't understand how a season is a long PROCESS and they take specific instances and exaggerate their importance.

Why can't everyone wait and see how this season plays out before calling for the mans head?
I think fans are seeing a noticeable difference in the intensity...when you watch BAMA the #2 ranked defense and then watch LSU flounder against unranked teams..
It's a tale tale sign to the future...
If miles can them coached up, we will likely have our butts handed to us against good teams on the road

This is what people are afraid of:
2008 - Bad season, 8-5, no team unity, embarrassing play
2009 - 4-0 is great, but that's more so due to playing worse teams. This team looks like a 8-4 team right now, which isn't exactly stellar.
2010 - Hard, hard schedule. We lose most of our offensive firepower from an offense that already struggles. This is looking far into the future, but this shouldn't be a year that LSU truly contends when you look at the circumstances right now.
People are afraid that we will have three straight disappointing years. There really is no reason at this point to be overly optimistic when you look at everything with a clear mind. Really, a win in Athens would do wonders. People will always bitch, but that would be a HUGE sign for things going in the right direction.

No he didn't, he dismissed it and derided LSU fans for it. You can't manage it because it is unmanageable. catastrophe syndrome is base on emotion and ignorance, how can anyone be expected to manage that?
All that matters is wins, institutional control of the program and revenue generated, nothing else

i was never a fan of les miles and never will be. Got cussed at by all my friends for being critical on the hire from day one and now most of them are coming up to me and saying I was right. I know a bad coach when I see one.
do you?

how many 10+ win seasons does miles have to have to be considering a good coach by some in the sec. I guess he will still be playing with Saban's players 30 years from now.

didn't sound like it in that thread...

To say the least!!! What's the matter with the LSU fan base?
That said, the team looked as ill-prepared and unprepared as Curly Hallman's looked when they opened (as I recall) the season against Texas A&M many years ago.
These coaches aren't stupid. Why the same playbook for 3 years? Mystery.

I am in no way suggesting we fire Les, but does him not being hired by Alleva give him a shorter leash?

I am of the opinion to wait and see what happens with the entirety of the season before I convict the man and want him executed. Too bad that so many LSU "fans" are ignorant idiots that want their TV dinners NOW so they microwave it because they can't wait 40mins for it to bake in the oven even when they know it is so much better out of the oven. Those ignorant idiots deserve their mashed potatoes with ice in the middle and their brownie hard and dried out.
I agree with this
and i think 75% is kind of high.
stop reading this board and talk to the other people who are LSU fans that dont waste time posting here.

the wheels come off, Saban/Kiffin/Rodriguez take hold in Louisiana recruiting, ticket renewals take a hit from team performance combined with the economy and the debt service the TAF is facing gets closer to being in jeopardy THEN you could see a move to get rid of Miles.
but we are a LONG way away from that, regardless who the AD is

I am very happy we are 4-0, and I was screaming louder than anyone when we stopped State on the goal line.

We are 4-0. If we play every game ugly yet win to finish the season 14-0, I'll be damn happy.

I believe we go as far as JJ takes us. If Crowton gets enough comfort in JJ to dump the I, go Spread option 75% of the time and wildcat 25% of the time with Sheppard then we could get hot and go 12-0 imho. However those changes could happen, the whole thing is a dismal failure, we become a TO machine and we go 6-6
Players make plays coaches just put them in position to make plays. At least we aren't throwing the ball down the middle of the field over and over again and getting INTs that beat us. That is a major improvement over last year.

Don't we want an AD who is more pro-active and can make a move before it gets to that point? Again, not suggesting we fire Miles, but do we really need to wait until the shite hits the fan to make a change? Wouldn't that be too late?
