No he didn't,

You can't manage it because it is unmanageable. catastrophe syndrome is base on emotion and ignorance, how can anyone be expected to manage that?

At least we aren't throwing the ball down the middle of the field over and over again and getting INTs that beat us. That is a major improvement over last year.

Totally agreed
previous administrations tended to wait too long to make a change. I'm not saying fire Miles ASAP, although I have turned against him, but you can't let it get real bad before making a change.
Idk what Aleva's history with coaching changes is, but let's hope he is indeed proactive

Les doesn't have the same number of mind blowing terrible losses outside of maybe Arkansas the last two years. He has nothing on his resume at LSU as bad as Zook's loss to State...

Very nice summary. Seems folks can't express concern w/o getting flamed. SEC is so ridiculously competitive, you can't wait until the wheels come off before deciding you should have bought a new car a while back. Not saying the wheels are coming off, but there's concern. A coach who hails this O-line as "best," allows last year's D coordinator fiasco, and limps into a NC game w/ another's talent deserves a raised eyebrow.

Don't we want an AD who is more pro-active and can make a move before it gets to that point? Again, not suggesting we fire Miles, but do we really need to wait until the shite hits the fan to make a change? Wouldn't that be too late?
clearly administrators don't look at things the way we do and this is not the NFL where you just fire a guy who won you a Super Bowl because you are tired of him (Gruden/Shanahan)
imho the biggest single factor in determining the future of the LSU Football Program from an administration stand point is the TAF debt service, threaten that and shite gets real. Right now people are still buying their tickets for market prices, paying their ridiculous fees and not paying attention to the country's economy. Start putting a shoddy product on the field and make it easier for people to justify not paying the market rates and the revenue numbers go down, then a decision would have to made.
we are #4 in the country and undefeated, let's not lose sight of that

Saban didn't shut anyone up, he just sneered at them and then ignored them
I don't know what you were doing before you signed up in july 2005 but you obviously weren't reading this message board

I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that it's about 75% complete.
I judge Les Miles by the product on the field.
It's that simple.
Last season, he finished 3-5 in the SEC. He had a home SEC record of 1-3. Two of the SEC losses were blowouts. Another was the result of a fourth quarter collapse. The defense was porous all season. Those results are justifiably unacceptable to most LSU fans.
This season...Well, this season hasn't even transpired yet. I'll reserve judgment until the season is over.
If we go 9-3 or better, I'll be satisfied. If we go 8-4 or worse, I won't be. The critical games are upon us. Time will tell.

evidently they were unacceptable to Miles as well, since he cleaned out the defensive staff...all coaches make mistakes, you judge them by how quickly they act to fix the mistake. Major Applewhite, for example.

The fact of the matter is that we don't know if the 2009 defense is a good one or not. On the one hand, we suffocated two lowly teams in Vandy and ULL. On the other hand, we gave up a plethora of passing yards to UW and were gashed between the tackles by the MSU running game. The UGA and Florida games will likely be dispositive.

All i was trying to say was that the players looked at Bo more as the head coach than Miles. And since he has left we havent done so hot.

Don't assume. It makes an arse out of ume.
I support our coach!

And I'm saying that I don't think Bo Pelini had much to do with the fact that LSU had a very potent offense in 2007...and for the record, I'm a Bo P fan.
I never said he had anything to do with the offense, i was making the point that they played hard for Bo,
we dont look like were putting to much effort in of late.

I'm not saying "fire Les" ... yet.
But I don't like what I see so far, and a train wreck may be coming.

I still like Miles. I think we're playing horrible football but, I just like the guy

I think we lose our next two games. Then the wheels fall off.
The get rid of Miles chatter will really heat up after the Auburn and Bama losses.
8-4 at best this year

I have not turned on Les Miles.
Miles is recruiting and has recruited, not just well, but exceptionally well. That alone will give LSU a winning program and put butts in the seats.
Miles recognizes and acts on problems within the organization. Some successful coaches are loathe to fire coordinators. (Local examples: DiNardo and Mora.)
Miles hires well. Miles not only recognized the problem last year, he acted upon it, and he brought in what might well be the best available talent. (Crowton was another hire Miles made that was a pick up of some of the best available talent.)
Miles takes risks where necessary. Florida 2007, et al.
I know what Miles brings to the table. I'll take what we have over what might be available. I believe that you don't make a change for the sake of change. You make a change when you have a damn good reason to make a change. Right now, I don't see a compelling reason to make a change.
Moreover, even if we go 8-5 again. I'll still give Miles one more chance. I agree with Miles' decision to can RP for the sake of the program. And where we are right now is, in large part, a result of that decision.

no, they really didn't. Archer and DiNardo were fired after 2 bad seasons, Hallman had 4. Now you can argue that none of those guy's should have been hired in the first place, but the firings were not over due.
