Brian Kelly is expected to hire Notre Dame co-director of strength and conditioning Jacob Flint to run the department at #LSU, sources confirm to @TheAthletic, replacing Tommy Moffitt. Flint played for Kelly at Central Michigan and has worked for him at Cincy and Notre Dame.

Prior to joining Notre Dame’s staff in January 2010, Flint was a member of the strength and conditioning staff at the University of Cincinnati from 2007-09. While at Cincinnati, Flint helped the Bearcats to a 33-6 record, while winning back-to-back BIG EAST championships in 2008 and 2009.

Flint played for Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly at Central Michigan University as a walk-on and was rewarded for his dedication to the football program with a scholarship in his last season in 2005. Following his senior season, Flint worked as a staff assistant, serving primarily in the weight room while also assisting with the development of the running backs in the 2006 Mid-American Conference championship season.

Flint competes in the 85-kilogram weight class of USA weightlifting and is a national level lifter.

Sounds like a real lunch pail guy.

If a guy like that can translate that passion and work ethic into 5 stars, it's no-brainer, gold hire.

Didnt a ND fan say he’s a good one and someone Kelly might bring with?

I thought it was in one of those threads started by one of them.

He did. He also said that it was his opinion that Flint wouldn’t leave ND because of his connection there if I remember correctly.

Having the opportunity to learn behind one of the most respected strength and conditioning coaches in Balis for the last eight years is an experience that should only benefit Flint in his transition to LSU. Driskell also pointed out that Notre Dame has won 16 straight games in November, pointing to the level of conditioning the players have been in the last handful of seasons.

It'll be good to have a fresh perspective in the S&C operation. It was time, and Flint seems like an excellent choice.
