Names of the finalists are not being released.

The university received more than 100 applications for the position

Thoughts on who the front-runner might be? Kind of surprised they have 10 finalists.

I wouldn't think they opened up a national search to hire the guy that calls the softball games

I really want someone who understands our history and traditions. This isn't like a head coach position that you can plug in.

SVP

But seriously, I like Hannagriff for the job. Seems the obvious choice.

I always thought it would be Timmy B.

Knows the area, knows the SEC, good voice, experienced with PBP, call in shows, hosting, etc.

How the hell is Hannagriff the obvious choice? Sure, he is a good radio show host and a decent baseball announcer, but what aspect of his voice and delivery makes you think he would translate well to basketball and football?

Brando said on his radio show that he was not interested in the position. He said maybe at one time in his career he would have been, but not at this time. It makes sense too, He has a prominent position at a national TV network.

You see Brando giving up his TV gig to opt for sitting in the Alex Box press box calling an LSU-Nicholls St midweek game? Obviously there are more glorious elements to the LSU job but this would seem to be a major career step backward for Brando that I don't see happening.

That will exclude most of the local yokels that a lot of people have posted.
