LSU Depth Chart (Spring - Day 1) [1 image]

This is my best guess at yesterday's Depth Chart.
Jersey numbers have been issued for the new guys.
Not much news from the first day of Spring practice.
• Matt Moscona reported that Josh Thompson is still awaiting graduation at Northwestern before joining LSU later this month.
• Moscona listed the starting 5 OL and mentioned that Carius Curne was already running 2nd team.
• Moscona said Stamps and Delane started at CB.
• Colin Hurley is not at school right now due to his accident, therefore, he is not practicing with the team.
• Former SAF/RB, Ju'juan Johnson, has been moved to QB.
• RB Trey Holly is scheduled to stand trial beginning July 7.

For Boundary safety, do you think Toviano would be a more likely starter than Gilbert?

I know it is the 1st look at this, with many more to come, but I'll be disappointed IF Gilbert starts at a S spot vs Clemson. We need to be better than that on the top end of our DEF. Looking forward to seeing the development of others (i.e. Toviano) and the new roster adds.

I like the roster until I got past the linebackers. Still a question mark in secondary. Hoping Pickett can hit ground running. Gilberts name as starter made me a little queasy.

Wouldn't Trey Holly actually be a redshirt sophomore? I think last year would still count, right?
I know he has to be listed on the roster, but I don't see him ever being a factor at LSU, even he is reinstated. I could see him eventually winding up someplace like ULM, near home with a better chance to play.

Yeah, close to home is right where he should be. Being close to home has been his haven so far.

My only concern is the new offensive line. They have depth now but so many unproven players.

I know he isn't playing in the spring anyway, but didn't Baker and/or Kelly say that Perkins will be playing the Star next season?
