We could make a deep run, or we could lose a close game in the first round. Depends on which team shows up.

LSU COULD be special in the tournament IF they can shoot the 3 better. Honestly, watching them shoot from outside is like watching women's basketball. They can't shoot either.

We could also be one and done if matched up with a strong zone defensive team. We are in consistent shooting 3 and even more inconsistent defending it. The biggest concern obviously is the inability to dominate anyone.. Any team that wants to play every game close like we do will roll snake eyes eventually.

You haven’t watched Duke this year

I have a lot, with and without Zion, and Butt is right. Duke can be made vulnerable and are very beatable by an athletic team like LSU.

Has any other team played 3 of the top 8 ranked teams and gone 2&1? Solid

With LSU's guard play and ability to score a lot of points especially in the paint, you darn right LSU can make a run. LSU physically can play with any team in college basketball.

Actually Houston is ranked 8 and we lost to them. I believe that is why he said 2-1.

we’ve played 2 and won both
Houston is ranked 8th and we lost at their place by 6 points early. Bet we beat them today, but they do have only 1 loss.

They could also lose to a 12 seed that went off from 3 just like the other top 20 seeds. If we get a good matchups and have the ball bounce our way we could get to final 16. Strap it on no one knows where it’ll end.

It's true that on any given night tournament teams can take you down, but LSU has faced some teams who have been on fire from 3 and still came out on top. Georgia shot 47% from 3 on us (and 53% FG), Auburn hit a season-high 16 3-pointers while shooting 42% from 3 (48% FG) and UNC Greensboro hit 19 3-pointers while shooting an astounding 57% from 3 (56% FG) and LSU still managed to win all of those games.

I think the key for LSU is not turning it over much and rebounding. With their height, ability to drive and free throw shooting, if they can limit turnovers (they had only 16 combined in the last two games and the OT period) and continue to rebound so well, they can beat anyone.

Those key factors...limiting turnovers, offensive rebounding, and stellar FT shooting is why this team is in every game, always a chance to win late, and never getting blown out. The lack of 3-pt shooting is why they aren’t blowing teams out by 20.

I would like to see Smart driving and dishing to an open Waters for 3s upon his return. I think that could lead to some decisive wins in the tourney when coupled with the previous three factors.

This. If you just assume you're going to the second weekend because we're a 3-seed then you haven't watched this tournament. It's a fricking crap shoot. The refs call for the little guy and the arena is almost always united against the higher seed, making it a virtual road game.

The way I look at it is like this. There is not one team in the country LSU cant beat. The whole key will be consistency in the tournament. IF LSU brings their A game every time, they will make the final four, possibly could win it.

Its going to be fun.
