Not a fan for the huge "Scotty Moran" sign. I understand he probably funded most, if not all of the the plaza construction, but just give him a plaque right on the gate or something

I agree. Seems pretty grandiose.

If they just painting it black or dark grey it wouldn't be an issue.

I think it's time to embrace the pipe.

I was looking for something else and yes a simple paint job would help immensely.

Just paint the damn thing dark gray...

And put me down for thinking its weird to have these donor names on these entrances and plazas...I could understand if they were using a legendary coach or player's name, but not someone that 99% of the LSU fan base is unaware of. I agree that a plaque would have been more appropriate.

So instead of the arch over the gate saying "Tiger Stadium" like in the original plans, it says "Scotty Moran Champions Plaza?"

Seems like even if you put up the money for this, that in order to have your name emblazoned across it you would at least need to be dead first. Seems weird to have your name on something like that and still be alive AND not played.

It's just like the Gerry Lane Plaza at the Box. To me, having their names prominently displayed gives an impression to most visitors that these guys were former standout players. I don't really care for it either.

It will look even tackier with the huge toys r us yellow letters saying tiger stadium.

Does anybody know why LSU waited so long to start this project?

If that sign is in lieu of the Tiger Stadium sign that they once proposed, I will vomit.

Scotty? Is he 10 years old?

Not sure if serious.....Look again, it's almost done....a little more cement by the cage which takes all of 1 day to dry...
