Vol is saying if we stop testing for it then the optics will look like were encouraging it.

my question is since when has LSU taken an interest in how things look? theyve been losing PR battles left and right for ten years and it makes no difference to them. New AD, new president, same shite.

Make testing for weed a racial issue or LGBTQ and it will stop. 2021 strategy.

Take it out of the school administrations hands completely is the answer.

If Coach wants to test for it and give team penalties as he sees fit, cool. If he wants to support cheat days where they all get high and watch movies after a good week of practice, cool.

LSU Compliance has entirely too much time on its hands and needs to be culled.

I don't disagree. But the current reality is it is against the rules to be eligible to play football for LSU. At some point don't you have to blame the player and not the rule?

Let's face it. I doubt he is the ONLY player on the team who (allegedly) smokes pot. Yet, he's been suspended EACH of the last three seasons (presumably) for breaking the rules and (if the OP report is correct) was going to be in violation once more. The other guys who do it seem to be, at minimum, able to keep themselves from getting caught enough so that they can continue to play. When you get popped ALL FOUR YEARS of your career it seems like his lack of give a shite far exceeded the normal player

It isn't an NCAA thing. Let's put it this way - Stanford and Notre Dame aren't as strict as LSU. We're like a service academy when it comes to weed.

Thank Christ Miriam and company are busting pot smokers and not running rape accusations through the proper channels. I would hate for LSU to take damage to our pristine reputation.

What a joke we have become. We should legalize pot already. Imagine the recruits we’d pull if we had a full on cannabis lounge at our training facility. 50 strains on tap, concentrates and edibles. We’d be rolling in the Nattys.

I'm torn on this question. I say the players deserve some of the blame and wholeheartedly think personal responsibility does not get enough attention these days.

But, these players are asked to do so much and the pressure on them is enormous. In addition to that, some are pumped full of pain-killers to keep them on the field. If weed helps both physical and mental, why not just let the players choose it if they want to avoid the pain pills that could cause so many other issues. Hell, LSU is studying weed for medical use and actually grows the shite, so a case could be made that they have the knowledge to know the benefits.

Not saying it should be promoted, but it is safer than opioids and if others schools aren't testing as much, then we are at a competitive disadvantage.

Bottom line is, this program is constantly shooting itself in the foot when compliance could be using their resources to ensure more serious things are not taking place (here's looking at you sexual assault).

Please do not compare someone violently resisting arrest to someone who smokes some weed. Just don’t.

I am merely stating that people tend to blame someone else vs the person who is really to blame. Regardless of the situation, the point is the point.

This is a lsu thing bro. Ncaa doesn't test for weed. Alabama players boasted about failing weed test and never missing a practice let along a snap.lsu compliance is crippling itself.

Unless the State of Louisiana changes the law to legalize recreational marijuana in Louisiana, there's not a thing Woodward can do about it.

They could test for week, but if used for medical [pain], is it illegal? There's a ton of topical week products for muscle pain out there . . .
