Yes sir...I read Pete Finnys book on LSU Football in 1970. It is obvious most on the Rant did not.
I honestly believe there are many who don't know LSU played football before 2000.

I think an alternate uni with green mixed in would be dope. Maybe just an added green stripe with the purple & gold on the sleeve.

Dear God this would be HIDEOUS!!

More like purple and yellow.

Remember in the 90s when they wanted to change it to Old Gold. Like Washingtons colors

Gold is a color in the yellow spectrum.

If I remember correctly from my tigerband days, the ropes around the arm where our shoulder starts were blue and white as an ommage to those original colors.

"I think an alternate uni with green mixed in would be dope. Not like a whole green jersey or green pants or anything that drastic. maybe just an added green stripe with the purple and gold on the sleeve."

This is heresy! Stop the insanity!

I’ve always thought the basketball team should add some green to their uniforms around Mardi Gras.

they could make some money selling lsu basketball sweatshirts or polos with a little green as well

Bookmarked your post to keep a record of the official colors so I can forge some LSU paraphernalia for the house!

ne seems to realize that our athletic colors aren’t actually purple and gold. But I imagine a good number who post on this site do.

So you are saying that we'd look like Baylor or Oregon?

I think the idea was to look like Yale, which was the popular football club at the time.

Okay so it’s purple and a shade of yellow. Well I knew that.

Since blue & white are dominant colors on state seal & flag, would make sense.

That sure as hell wasn't ME saying that green should be added to any LSU uniform! I admit that I like the "Old Gold" helmet color like we wore against Arkansas many moons ago, but the only green I ever want to see on any LSU uniform would be grass stains.

Sorry for the huge size of the photo. This is the "Old Gold" helmet I like.
