I think the way we lost those two games shrinks his room for error next year. In other words, if he's allowed another season, he'd better get us to the SEC championship game.

If Miles is fired... Alleva NEEDS TO GO AS WELL.

Tell the board member to keep board things with the board. He needs to be voted off the board.

Ronnie knows the 'boundaries' ... knows exactly what he is doing, both the statement and timing.

Say what you will about Les Miles, for a member of the BOS to openly come out with this on the eve of game is pretty shitty.
Members of a board that speak singularly like this defeat the purpose of a board. As a board member he should only be speaking about LSU when in the presence of the rest of the board. Now his words will be spun as the word of the entire board. Although this comments have merit, he should never have said that publicly.

What do you think his strategy is here?
Posted on 11/21/15 at 7:43 am to BCS Statmaster
This was a warning shot, plain and simple. If Less Miles doesn't go out and coach his arse off the next two games, this was a warning that he's toast. I don't see why people are reading into this.

You and I agree maybe once in two blue moons, but we agree 100% on this. This was a very sh**ty and very unprofessional remark.

If you guys push this program off the cliff, there are going to be a lot more pissed off Tiger Fans than this.
Careful what you wish for.

Am only familiar with Ronnie, not his BOS activity. But have seen him 'maneuver'.
There are a lot of possibilities. If I speculate, will end badly.

Agreed. An anchor around the neck when the ship goes down.

Because that warning shot didn't need to be in public view. Les knew walking into the post game press conference last week he was in hot water. Happenings like this are going to hurt the coaching search more than help. Les has been all class since being here and has to endure a lot of BS through it all. Why not let him step down with dignity and avoid the potential harm a BOS public statement may cause?
Les is likely gone but this fanbase is in for some dissapointing years ahead. We won't land who we want in the end.

I'm having a hard time seeing any "play" here that is remotely a good move for a member of the board to make. If you want Les gone, a professional would let the season play out, do your groundwork behind the scenes so you are ready for a coaching change and then let the current coach go.
Cutting the legs out from under the current coach with games left to play does absolutely none of the above.

Jesus the BOS is as still as dumb as they were in their glory days?
By that I mean the Joe dean / Curley Hallman days.

Some here lost their minds after the 05 Tennessee game. Idiots. Just saying!

I'm late here but I agree with BeeFense. I am no Miles defender but none of these should be saying a damn thing right now with 2 games to play. It's bush league, accomplishes nothing and quite frankly the man has earned the right to be treated better

Remember in 2010 when their was rumor the BOS setup a bank account for Les' s buyout? Then he rips off the best regular season in LSU history.

I've painfully read through each post in this thread so far and have basically come to this same conclusion. It appears to be a done deal with the public statement from BOS member.
If Miles was given next year, he could realistically go 11-1 regular season, lose to Bama, and STILL miss the SEC CG and likely or potentially the Playoffs again. Some thought firing a 9-2 coach was a shite storm until you give an ultimatum as SEC CG or bust and go 11-1 and still miss...
My bigger fears are impact to the current staff (specifically Frank and Bebe, and potentially Grimes and Raymond) AND this top recruiting class.
But I am a pessimist at heart...
