I am questioning that after 40 years.

Funny how all these entities raise prices when their product sucks.
Baffling...

Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter. Businesses will purchase them. I find that’s most of the sporting events I go to these days. The crowd is largely there with tickets that were gifted to them through something work related. They didn’t pay for them, so they don’t appreciate the experience. Half of the time they don’t even care about the team they are there to see.

Or what? I’m not trying to be flippant or argumentative about your statement. The reality is the product can be shite next year, too, and the piper is already paid.
You're correct though. LSU will continue selling out.

Shitty quarterback, shitty offense, shitty coach, shitty loud rap music ruining the game day experience so let’s go up on ticket prices.

I have discussed this crap with my tailgate crew. There is a point where we will simply say no, no longer renew our season tickets, and just sit at our tailgate and watch games on our TVs. No stupid lines. No overpriced garbage beer. No chitty concessions. No missing a quarter to go piss.

My wife told me this morning that Social Security Recipients were getting a 2.5 % raise. I guess they need it to pay Kelly's buyout.

Sadly we gave ours up in 2012. They revamped the way to get to our seats taking away the best part. Also adding our seats to the entire west 100 which raised our prices like we were 30 rows up. I miss going but damn at what point do people make a stand?

which is why you see the stadium half empty in the 3rd quarter of one score SEC games
Yeah, that's not it.

If y’all didn’t see this coming, I don’t know what to tell you. The athletic department now has to find an extra $20 million per year to fund the rev-share.
Every school is about to receive an extra $15 million/year (starting with the upcoming 2024-2025 SEC distributions) as a result of the ESPN contract.
On top of that, distributions should increase by another ~$3-5 million once the 9-game schedule goes into effect, based on reports that ESPN was willing to pay an extra $50-80 million. Granted some of that will be offset by the loss of a cupcake game.
And then Orgeron’s buyout will be off the books in December, freeing up another few million per year.
The new Venture Global sponsorship is like worth millions per year, and LSU reportedly has another partner lined up for jersey patches if/when the NCAA approves.. also worth millions (if not tens of millions) per year.
I’m not saying rev share doesn’t play a big part in all of this. It obviously does. But at some point you have to accept that it’s gone beyond simply finding the $20 million to make ends meet.

That’s what I thought would happen…make the Old Front Nine reserved parking. I’m out after decades of season tickets. I’m done.

100% spot on. The more seats and sections that are getting blocked off for TAF/Greek/Corporate is insane. Meanwhile, they will make sure the normal fan doesn’t get any reasonable upgrade and is left holding the increased fees.

exactly, they are basically pricing out the people who made "Saturday night in death valley" such a special experience

It’s really sad. I have some core memories of going to LSU games as a kid and falling in love with everything that is LSU game day.
The dream of taking my kids to Tiger Stadium and creating their own core memories is dead. Now it costs around $1000 for a family of 4 to attend a single game. Having to pay hundreds of dollars to park at an event I’ve already paid to attend is where I’m out. Three times I have had to relocate where I parked and setup tailgate because the lot went from free to paid parking. Sad to say I’m done.

Prolly not a good time to be increasing ticket prices.....but hey I'm not on the board - so what do I know.
People on boards aren't always people who are in touch with the common person. They're usually rich and on a board because they're well connected and because they're influential.

Season tickets have been in my family since the 50's. I'm very close to telling LSU to keep 'em.

Poor timing. Unbelievable idiotic decision.
