Who knows, maybe we can get brand name team for the ACC/SEC challenge. If the home/away holds true it look like possibilities would be Syracuse, Duke, Pitt, Wake, BC, FSU, GT & ND. Duke at Florida seems like a no brainer for ESPN though.

Someone posted Stanford would be our opponent but I haven’t seen an announcement

Thanks for the update.

There will be huge crowds for the 1st couple games, but I don’t want the fanbase to get that lull in enthusiasm for the whole month of December when it’s just a bunch of mid-majors nobody cares about. I’m really hoping for one big name early season home game, but that seems unlikely.

Given the number of OOC games stated above, it is unlikely there will be a "big name" home game other than the ACC/SEC challenge game. I too would like a "big name" OOC home game, but those are becoming rarer with the financial incentive of neutral site games. For year 1 though, a schedule with Houston, Gonzaga, ACC opponent, and (likely) at least one "brand name" opponent in the Thanksgiving tournament is fine.

If the football team performs as well as we all hope that will dominate Nov/Dec anyway. At minimum, get a few noteworthy wins in Nov/Dec so come January when the casual fans start paying attention the team will already have a little buzz

Now is the addition of Johnny Jones to the coaching staff, a reason for the inclusion of strong opposition like Gonzaga and U of H? I remember when he coached TSU the team would frequently schedule quality, high-profile opponents which the SWAC Tigers would occasionally upset.

No. TSU needed the money and they were probably willing to play for (relatively) cheap compared to other mid-major programs.

Hell yeah it is. 6:30 kickoff likely vs Texas and have the Gonzaga game as dessert.

Dumb arse Alleva could've (Could Have) hired Tony Bennett way back then when TB was a rising young star at Washington State. DAA thought Trent Johnson was a better option.

So the Non-con opponents will look something like this?
Gonzaga (neutral site)
Houston (neutral site)
Vs. Wake Forest
Stanford (neutral site)
Arizona State (neutral site
USC (neutral site)
Vs. Washington State
That’s a “strong arse” non con put together by the general
