They don't let high schoolers waste valuable time that could be used looking at what they got!

Correct. The guy was a walk on and he looked good. The new turf looks great too. It was a nice evening at The Box.

You went to the scrimmage? Nice. Love talking baseball any day of the year.

From what I understand he is a guy that played at Tulane for two years and blew his knee out. Tulane released him and he is trying out for the team. Knee did not seem to be a problem today. He is a currently a student at LSU. His name is Fury..... or something like that.

Yeah I also heard Fury. Dude threw a solid two innings, good for him.

Yes. Will likely make the Sunday scrimmage too. I live so close to the Box.

Some fella in a gray and black practice shirt threw two scoreless innings with a K.

Sounds solid and I wish him well. However, pitching scoreless innings is no guaranty of making the team. It's all about numbers and doesn't sound like there's but one spot and it may already be promised to the kid someone said is enrolling in January.

My oldest son tried to walk on last year (passed up spots at some smaller schools for the opportunity) and pitched in 4 scrimmages during the fall work outs. Not only did he not give up a single run, but only allowed 1 hit in all of his appearances. Didn't matter. As I understand it they didn't take any walk ons last year (no room). Tough to make a team like LSU as a walk on.

Yeah, but Glenn has that dreaded "potential".

Kim, you scared me for a second, though you meant astro turf

Yeah, it was a real bummer but I'm proud of how my son handled himself and took a shot. It was tough to watch last year thinking what could have been, but it's only natural the coaches are going to favor those guys on the roster/scholarship.
