Absolutely Josh. The first 15 games are for show. The next 30 determine if you go to the show.

I hope keeping Javy as the hitting coach doesn't frick us this year.

Thought it was an obvious that a move needed to be made in the offseason in the form of a new hitting coach. But what do I know, I'm just a fan.

Come on. The early OOC schedule in 08-09 were cupcakes. Has nothing to do with the success of the rest of the season. They lost one of those early series to Illinois too.

Ok, so who is South Caralina, Florida, and Vandy sceduling for their ooc games?
I don't give a shiit about cream puff teams. That is not what kept us out of post season play.
If they play well in the SEC play they will have a post season.

Before conference play, the 2000 season finished their OOC schedule 11-6. That season ended just terribly.

ETA: those six losses were McNeese, Arizona St., UCF, and a sweep by Houston.

Yes, Lester is correct. USC won it last year and they hit a good bit under .300 I think.

the pitching is definitely good enough but I don't see anything from any of the vets that says they have what it takes and the new guys haven't shown it yet. Hopefully the break out of the shell and it isn't more of the same. Jacoby has been downright atrocious and he's supposed to be our best position guy.

7 games into the season. its just stupid to make blanket statements like this team isn't talented.

ok. I don't think they have the talent to make it to Omaha. Hopefully they prove me wrong. Its stupid to bury your head in the sand and think everything is ok after the last 2+ seasons

Yeah, to say this team doesn't have Omaha talent right now is premature

maybe you're right but Mainieri's recruiting the last couple of years coupled with what we've seen at the plate is troubling
