PM is not the 2nd best coach in the country. He’s just not. He might be in the top 20. Might. And that’s not really LSU standards

He’s not a top 2 coach right now but to say he’s not in the top 20 is just laughable, Earl.

So we just count this season, that never finished, because it helps your argument?

But not sure you want to touch on arm injuries & coach mainieri

Because LSU pitchers have had arm injuries at a higher rate than anybody else?

Or dive into the decline in talent among position players since then

Yet another thing you've repeated 5,000 times. I swear you only repeat the same two things on repeat constantly.

PM is not the 2nd best coach in the country

Not once did I say this. Nothing even close to this.

He might be in the top 20. Might

You can't name 20 coaches, must less 20 that are better. You are ridiculous.

He might not be. Again, it’s a les miles situation. You guys are going to focus on the past results, instead of dissecting the process

Process over results

We knew les started to lose it when his roster construction started to crumble. PM is doing the same shite the last few years.

Schools are investing in college baseball now. To think there aren’t a glob of coaches better than PM is silly

It’s easy to say glob of coaches. Ok point proven you’re right

I’m not denying anything you’re saying but your argument is so lazy.

MSU has made the world series every season since Cannizaro was fired. If a pitching coach Henderson and Lemonis a guy from Indiana who nobody had heard of can do it. It must be pretty easy

Than why can’t Mainieri do at LSU with our fans, tradition and recruiting prowess? As I said before we are arguably the 5th or 6th best team in the sec now. That should not be the case.

Cause fans and tradition and even head coaches don't mean dick when it comes to baseball recruiting prowess.

If they did, we never would have overtaken USC and ASU (and MSU) in the first place.

State (re)built awesome facilities and hired good pitching and hitting coaches. That's what baseball recruiting prowess is.

Not sure how that exactly works. You can’t deny what I’m saying, but it’s lazy lol

In the 3 seasons since that runner up, what has he done that is so unique to you?

Did I miss something with the 2020 season? Because there really wasn't a season unless you are really using that in your argument which is silly.

Mainieri isn't perfect at all, and the last 2 seasons haven't been the best. However, your argument that he isn't a top 20 coach is ridiculous.

Remind me again who's job that is to hire those coaches? So your telling me Arky, Vandy, Florida, MSU and even Ole Miss recently have better coaches and facilities than LSU. My point is with what Skip built here, that should not be the case. LSU is one of the only programs in the country that actually make money. There is no excuse to have mediocre to average offense with little to no power bats year after year and that has been the case with LSU with the exception of a year or two in the past 10.

It doesn’t take Tommy Lasorda to see that that offense was going to be very pedestrian in 2020.

I don't care who LSU gets. At this point PM is done at LSU. He's lifeless and the fans/players are a representation of the coach. He's a literal zombie out in the box. Thanks for all you did coach but it's time for us to move on.

Seems like every LSU Baseball Season, I think Skip bring us to Omaha and I realize 20 Years has passed. We do need a coach with some fire in him.

The offenses have generally been fine, there has just been a lull with the position player recruiting & development these last few years.

2021 needs Doughty to be the man.

Some of these FR to come in and kill it off the bat.

Dugas or Bianco really need to make more contact & fast.

Thanks for letting us know you think that for about the fifth time in this thread alone.

All signs point to that happening. Hell, I would think he would have figured it out as the season progressed. It's not like he was not making solid contact out the gates.

He’s at the end of his rope. Probably need to start considering replacements in the next 2 years

LSU does have advantages, and the recent teams that PM has put together do not reflect that.

Other schools are investing in baseball.

Both can be true.
