SEC is always loaded, but our last decade of losing more regionals/supers than making the CWS is coming back to haunt us.

Only one way to turn that around. Maybe this will be the year.

Yeah, I saw that, but I let it slide because I agree with his point.

The LSU baseball fans are easily the worst group of the 3 major sports.

I agree. Luckily, there are also some of the most knowledgeable baseball fans on this board, compared to other sports. So, it balances out somewhat.

And I know you are saying the knowledgeable ones are the "worst" group, but if I remember correctly you fall into what I consider the "worst group."

2019: 5th

We are not a "middle of the pack SEC team."

This can be said of every school's fans who has a true "blue blood" in one of the 3 big sports. LSU baseball has spoiled us through the years and I hope the goal of our program is to continue to spoil its fans! LSU fans are revered in Omaha by fans and media alike. No school's fans are more talked about in a positive way than ours at the CWS.

Last year LSU was preseason #1 in the country by some polls and people said preseason polls don’t matter. So do they matter this year?

They are going to be a lot of people that couldn’t complain about LSU football for the past 5 months take out their frustration on the baseball team. I can feel it now.

And only the dumbest of the dumb would be sitting here crying about a preseason rank of 12.

I'll ask again, where was football ranked to begin the season? When it was all said and done, they were far and away the best team in college football. You have way more eyes, and way more knowledge, going into college football rankings compared to baseball as well.

The rankings don't mean a damn thing, and anybody with half a brain knows that. If we are sitting here at the end of the season, finishing 7th in the SEC and clawing to host a regional, then the bitching will be for a good reason.

No, it just means objective and knowledgeable people within college baseball circles see that LSU is not where it should be.

You're falling into your own argument trap here.

Preseason polls in college baseball are the worst out of the major three sports. Do you really think 7 SEC teams will remain in the top 10 once we're in conference play?

The answer is no...the difference between say Georgia or Florida and LSU is minimal. It'll sort itself during the season.

I don't know, you'd think that the overabundance of comically exaggerating posts related to baseball on this site would be obvious to some folks.

Looking at FanGraphs prospect rankings, I sorted just for college pitchers. Of the top 20 on the board, 12 are in the SEC. Where they are rated would land them in the top 2 rounds (including sandwich picks). One of them is Cole Henry. So, LSU could face 11 pitchers drafted on the first day of the draft. We've already faced some of them (including one from FSU).

The 11 we could face include one pitcher from Oklahoma, who we play in Houston, but does not include one pitcher from Vandy who is out with TJ.

This season is a show me season if I am Scott Woodward.

Constantly battling arm hurting njuries and not playing up to the talent we supposedly have. I am really getting pissed about Paul wasting this talent. He and LSU baseball need to wake up this season.
