Barash and McCune were just out doing community service a couple days ago.

"The children at Central Middle School are truly blessed to have a program that dedicates its efforts to finding leadership in children," said Barash, a sophomore catcher from Boca Raton, Fla. "They are surrounded by the right influences and have the right guidance in order to be successful."

"I'm very proud of our players for their commitment and desire to help others in our community," said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. "This is a responsibility our players embrace as being a part of the LSU Baseball program."

Can we make it official? It's time to start panicking about the catcher position.

It's been official for a while I thought.

I can't keep up with this thread

Marshall's looking like a top pick. I would be surprised if he made it to campus as of now. As with every recruiting cycle it's generally acceptable to take 1 or 2 out of state commitments from top tier guys in the mere hopes at least 1 slides (ala Gausman 2010).

Deichmann's draft profile reminds me a bit of Garin Cecchini coming out. Great frame, projectability, will fill out as he matures. Going to be a 5 tool player whether its at LSU for 3 years or in minor league ball. He could go anywhere from rounds 2-5 if the draft was tomorrow.

If I was told pick one out of the three that make it to campus it would be Alex Lange. He's a physical pitcher with a strong build who goes after hitters with his fastball/slider. He's still raw and needs to add a dependable third pitch but everything he needs is there. At first glance he'll remind you of a young Lance Lynn.

All three will be guys to watch out for on draft day.

We could always have Matt Heath back again.

Was just taking a look at the roster on LSUsports.net and noticed that Barash and Taylor Butler are no longer listed on there.

By my count there are still 38 players on the roster. That means 3 more have to go before the season starts.

Yep. The Williams kid from Georgia is still on there so who knows if he'll be on campus. And I don't know if they have to count Reynolds towards the 35 or not.

I'm sure the first thing you do when you are no longer on the team is to update your twitter profile

Found this article from last week. Sheds a little more light on the Williams situation.

Charges have to be dropped? What if the DA prosecutes but he's found not guilty?
