Yeah it's kind of how as much as I like the new Box, it will never have the same feel as the old place.

LSU did a much better job of building a new stadium than omaha did. I think we did the most to keep that college feel to the stadium while they went to a professional feel stadium where you just sit and watch the game.

Was he listed previously?

Yes
I didn't know that. Thanks. He was on the field at the fall practices I attended last month.

Looks like he's been suspended or removed as student coach. Too bad.

I won't even get on my soap box regarding TDA vs. Rosenblatt.

tl;dr version: I'm mad.

That really sucks. Hopefully it's just a suspension. Hate to see the kids life turned upside down.

Another bullshite crucifixion for a guy who made a simple mistake, getting treated like a criminal by the justice system. I hope that's not what cost him the job.

Was just taking a look at the roster on LSUsports.net and noticed that Barash and Taylor Butler are no longer listed on there.

DWI is not just 'a simple mistake' for someone who is supposed to be an example for the players, IMO.

HCB loses 2 of his boys in less than a year.

That's actually, really surprising if Barash is gone. He was a huge get last season.

Yeah I kind of agree. I mean obviously Mainieri has to have the same policy with him as he would a player though.

Yeah Butler was no surprise at all but Barash kind of was. Although all throught fall practice you heard Mainieri talk about the other 3 catchers and not much about him.

Can we make it official? It's time to start panicking about the catcher position.

Yeah. I know drinking is a huge part of the culture down here but DWI just isn't tolerated anymore. I mean, it's a really good way to get yourself and other people killed. And like you said, he's supposed to set an example. Coach just can't have it. I feel for the guy but he's definitely gonna have to take his lashings.

I'd be interested to hear Adam or MOT's take on Marshall, Lange, and Deichmann.

I can't keep up with this thread

Marshall's looking like a top pick. I would be surprised if he made it to campus as of now. As with every recruiting cycle it's generally acceptable to take 1 or 2 out of state commitments from top tier guys in the mere hopes at least 1 slides (ala Gausman 2010).

Deichmann's draft profile reminds me a bit of Garin Cecchini coming out. Great frame, projectability, will fill out as he matures. Going to be a 5 tool player whether its at LSU for 3 years or in minor league ball. He could go anywhere from rounds 2-5 if the draft was tomorrow.

If I was told pick one out of the three that make it to campus it would be Alex Lange. He's a physical pitcher with a strong build who goes after hitters with his fastball/slider. He's still raw and needs to add a dependable third pitch but everything he needs is there. At first glance he'll remind you of a young Lance Lynn.

All three will be guys to watch out for on draft day.
