lack of money isn’t why the men’s program is losing. Wade made money for LSU, the men’s program needs a coaching change.

LSU spends more money on Kim Mulkey and LSU women's basketball than LSU men's basketball, Matt McMahon
and the men still generated 1 mill in revenue while the women lost 8.5 million. Seems like the priorities should be reversed

LSU ‘s Women’s Basketball lost 8.5 million last year. Men’s Basketball made 1 million last year.
Imagine what it could do with a winner at HC

Did you see the PMAC last night? Yeah sold out. When the last time the men did that? Nope Wade never sold it out either. Face it LSU fans don’t care about men’s basketball

One is currently in the sweet 16, AGAIN, and one.... well, let's just leave it at that.

I'm not sure if this site is legit but could the difference in Revenue Sharing in Men's and Women's Basketball be a factor.
Revenue sharing hasn’t started yet…

It’s why Will Wade was paying guys out of his own bank account. It’s also why the haven’t fired McMahon
Wade used his wife’s account to pay hush money to a player from VCU’s disgruntled baby mama. Nothing to do with LSU. That’s probably why the downvotes.

Is there any reason McMahon can’t help himself in terms of NIL bucks? Did he pledge a few bucks and match donors like Brian Kelly did? He has the personality of a wet sock. Sorry, but sometimes in life you need to take bull by the horns and not wait for someone to help you out of the jam.
He came cheap, we got what we deserved.

LSU can't do anything about TV contracts. If they were to average out TV revenue between all sports, the p&l for the athletic depth would look much different.
The salary disparity is why WBB loses so much money. Y’all bitched about Fargas losing money, look now. LSU can raise ticket prices for WBB. Let’s see how many assets they can get into the seats.

Now just think if the administration cared a little more about basketball? Profits could easily double if not quadruple.
How would it double or quadruple? Doesn't the SEC equally share revenue regardless of how well you did? The SEC and the TV contracts won't suddenly give us way more money because we become good.
Also doesn't Title IX means LSU has to spend equal on women's sports as men's? So for every dollar they spend on football, they have to spend on a women's sport as well.

At the very least we're leaving money on the table by having a building that's 1/5th capacity for games.

That’s obviously not correct.

They could easily double the “profit” by selling more tickets and creating more interest thus more donors.

Yeah I looked it up, and I am wrong. Title IX does not require them to spend $1 to $1.
But I went to the LSU website and downloaded their P&L. Lsusports.net/contracts/ they have financial reports there.
Men's basketball made money but also received 4.3 million from media rights deals while the women had 0. Instead outside football and men's basketball all other sports were consolidated to the tune of $23.9 million.
So not surprising that men would report a profit while women have a lose. LSU has 21 total sponsored sports. If you take the 23.9 million media rights and divide it by the other 19 sports, suddenly baseball and women's basketball break even.

Now this could happen. I don't know how full the PMac is for men's games but they actually make more in ticket sales than women. 2.1 million against 1.3
When it comes to donations earmarked for specific sports, they are very close at 1.4 against 1.3 million. But if you believe the talking heads in local media it sounds like LSU basketball always has trouble fundraising. Personal I think that is BS because the same thing was said about baseball until Skip started knocking on every door and made people change their mind. I think the right coach for the men could do the same thing.

The tickets are double or more so that's not a good margin.

TV networks buy the media rights to get football. That’s the main reason. MBB is next then the others get coverage because they fill up time. In fact I believe the conference stipulate that the minor sports get covered and the networks agree as part of the deal to get football.

Creating unnecessary controversy because some of you are miserable crap-stirrers.
Men's basketball can be fixed without messing with women's basketball.
If LSU reduced the budget for the very successful women's basketball program to increase funding for the awful men's basketball program -- PR disaster.
Why not bring up all of the other sports that lose money?

In 116 years of MBB we have made the final four 4 times and never been further. So on average once every 29 years with a .569 winning %
But we do have a Alabama style Natty from 1933-35.
There was one poster that said LSU should be in the running for a final four every year.....LMAO. You can't make this up.
I was lucky to live through the greatest era of LSU basketball with Dale in the 80s and early 90s....where we had 2 final fours, another stolen final 4 that ended in an elite 8, and plenty of other tourney wins in a 10 year stretch. Yet People think WW was the greatest...lol. LSU has been to ONE final four in the last 39 years. Let that sink in.

We lose $8.5 mil per year in women’s BBall but won’t shitcan a coach for less in a sport that actually makes $$?
