I think there are some people in this discussion that don't like gay people IN THE SHOWER WITH THEM OR THEIR KIDS EVERYDAY and approve of Blue's comments and are veiling it by calling other people out for being against free speech.

FIFY Most people don't hate gays, but in this context, sports, they don't want to be naked with them or have their kids forced to be naked everyday with someone who is sexually attracted to them! And that is NOT wrong!

There's a reason there are separate boys and girls showers!

On another note...should an openly gay football player be allowed to shower in the girl's shower? if so, every player in America would declare he's gay!

Because he's an 18-22 year old kid who was asked a ridiculous question, and in the middle of spring practice. Let it go.

People say America is so intolerant and ignorant towards gays. Y'all need to look outside the box a little
well usually when people make those comparisons, they aren't comparing us to tribal regions in the middle east since we have things like electricity and books and stuff.

when people make the comparisons, they are comparing us to other educated and industrialized nations.

But that's not really relevant to the discussion.

"be happy gay people!! In Iran they stone you to death, here we just beat you up and mentally antagonize you!!!"

So he can say he would think less of someone for how they were born, but I can't criticize him for being an ignorant, hateful a-hole?

So a racist or sexist shouldn't have been condemned back in the day just because a lot of other people felt the same way?

his comments are ignorant, regardless of how many other people are also ignorant. That does not make it ok.

The irony in this thread by people bashing other people for bashing Blue's right to say what he wants.

Blue can say what he wants but posters on TD cant bash him for it?

Bash away. I wouldn't be thrilled if someone spoke ill of my beliefs, but I'm not going to go out and demand that someone apologize or face some sort of penalty for their statement. He spoke the truth about how he feels and if that offended some people, so be it. Drink water and drive on.

Exactly. What if Blue had gone on record and said that JJ should have always started in front of JL b/c he was faster and could extend plays. And everyone knows black people tend to be faster than white people(about as rational as assuming all gays are sissies).

Would he be praised for his honest opinion like he's being praised today?
Hell no.

Tell this to the parents of a gay kid who committed suicide because of ridicule by his peers. Gay teens are 5 times as likely as straight teens to attempt suicide. Comments like that of Blue's are part of that reason. Constantly having people make comments about how inadequate you are and how you aren't a man can have lasting affects on people.

That is why what Blue said is wrong. Yes he had the right to say it, still doesn't make it a right thing to say.

Im pretty sure he would have gotten more responses like "what in the hell is Blue talking about? JJ clangs the ball 7 yards in front of wide open WR's and cant read a defense to save his life. What good is extending a play if you cant deliver the ball?" Im pretty sure that would have been analyzed from a football perspective, and not a race perspective.

Why are people who oppose the gay lifestyle ignorant? If that is the case then are the gays ignorant for opposing traditional relationships? Why do you get to choose which side is ignorant and which side is enlightened?

I hardly think the arguments I've made in this discussion warrant being called a clown.

If you could explain it to me, I promise I will improve

Yeah, I beg you to find an example of this. And to answer your question, yes. If a gay person is opposed to "traditional marriage" I will also call them an ignorant a-hole.

Being "opposed to the 'gay lifestyle' (whatever the frick that even means)" is hardly different from being "opposed" to someone for having black skin.
