Thinking the same thing. Ironic. BTW, when was that area named Unity Field?

It used to be named after a confederate soldier? One liberal crybaby got upset. So they renamed it.

It’s not even a little bit racist to make this move.

1. That many people packed into 1 area with no surveillance is unsafe. They cracked down on frats they can crack down on this.

2. As for the shootings, some say “correlation does not equal causation.” Show me a more plausible correlation to the shootings than the huge crowd at unity that eventually migrated down highland towards the north gates.

fricking morons devoid of common sense.

They claimed this group’s tailgate brought a large number of people not affiliated with LSU to the campus

In a perfect world only people associated with LSU (alumni, family or friend of alumni, employee, student, etc) would be allowed to step foot on campus because these people actually care about the school and the campus.

There is not an insignificant number of people who go to campus with ZERO intention of attending the game. They like to call themselves "tailgaters". But they are really just loiterers. And it's people of ALL races of ALL socioeconomic statuses. Unless they paid for a parking pass, them being on campus adds ZERO value to LSU other than more congestion and more of a hassle to the actual ticket holders. Eventually, the ticket holders, who do contribute financially to the event, will get tired of the hassle and stop attending.

look at the videos around highland during the game before the shooting. It is completely overtaken with people in the streets.

Chimes and the other bars around there had to be bitching about it as well because that turns away the paying customers

My 19yo son was pumping gas at the Shell gas station at Bluebonnet/Perkins at 7pm last night. Car pulls in next to him and 2 thugs get out, one carrying an assault rifle and walked into the store with it. My son jumped in his car and rolled out. He called the police and after being on hold for several minutes, was told “you do know that it’s not illegal, right.” No comments like “thanks for calling, we’ll look into it.” I understand the legalities of open carry and all, but is this just the new norm around south Baton Rouge?

OT thread

Posted on the OT last night. Apparently someone's wife saw him flashing the gun. That gas station is extremely sketchy but for unknown reasons.

I've been saying this for years and getting a lot of pushback. I'm glad people are coming around to it. If you throw a free party, people are going to show up who you may not want to be there. And word has gotten out that there's a free party at LSU seven Saturdays a year.

This is gonna cause the activists to lose their mind.
This is where over the last 5ish years, it turned into a North Baton Rouge Ghetto fest with enough people smoking marijuana and listening to loud rap for even Wiz Khalifa to be thrown for a loop.

What’s been going on there to be called out in the press conference?

My wife was very uncomfortable walking past that area last weekend. Me too, honestly. Smelled strongly of weed and was just a complete disaster area. Way too many people smoking way too much. Trash everywhere.

I bet everything on the East side of Highland on campus will become paid parking. Law School, Uhigh, Urec, Ag Center, etc.. As much as I hate to pay for parking at a public university this will definitely help. The Law School/Uhigh has been my spot for years since I need to head toward the Garden District post game... the next step is going to be every part of property LSU owns will be paid parking.

Field on the corner of Highland rd and South Stadium Dr. Directly across from the Ag Center parking lot. We
Used that lot for a surveying class I took at LSU back in the day.

One of the most surveyed pieces of property on the planet. I wonder if the pins are still in place.

For context , Unity Field was the tailgate area for NPHC Greek organizations on LSU Campus , It was always a Good time , But a few years ago more and more Non Greek , Non LSU people came out there and that’s when things started going left , A lot of fights, Smoking and Guns. It’s Sucks that the Actuall LSU Students/Organizatins have to suffer but maybe they should consider doing something more private in the future , Bracelets or tickets like a lot of tailgates already do on campus , They had no choice but to shut it down hoonestly. That was the correct call

Pretty sure we ran a chain from PFT to that field and back. Many numbers were fudged that day
