The hate for them stems from their delusional fans not knowing their place. I use to pull for them before I would see their fans coming on here and laughing at our program when we lose to another team. This is not a rivalry. They are not close to LSU level. Trick you USL enjoy the New Orleans bowl.

You guys obviously have no idea how businesses work. Let me help you...the objective is to MAKE MONEY.

Now if ULL wants to give us half the gate on trips to the Teague....lets do it.

You do know that you can't play ALL of your OOC games at home right? LSU is not going to MAKE MONEY on every OOC game they play.

I bet money you don't know what the inside of a classroom at LSU looks like.

these are 2 great programs that are going to be in the post season regardless.

One is a great program and the other is currently having the best stretch in its history, which is still second tier.

There is no guarantee they will be able to sustain this or improve on it.

Why not? If not I'll play some at the Houston College Classic which I also get paid a little bit for although not nearly as much as a home game....plus it's a helluva lot better destination than Lafayette.

Yes "University of Louisiana at Lafayette" is the official name of the institution.

Just as "Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College" is the official name of the institution

only LSU doesn't deny the fact that they're an A&M school.
and the "A&M" part of the name has no bearing whatsoever on the schools standing in the pecking order in the state (or nationally). LSU is what LSU is. the name isn't what made them the school they are.

USL does everything it can to pretend "Lafayette" doesn't even exist.
and they think by removing "Lafayette" from the name, it elevates them to same level as schools like Texas, Michigan, Florida, and Alabama.
they somehow have convinced themselves that the name is what is holding them back.

They went to Omaha 16 years ago. So I would say that it isnt only "recently" that they have been good

Never said recently.

Currently they are having their best stretch in program history. Not really debatable.

Point is that they have not been a consistently good for decades. They have had decent stretches, and then other times where they have been avg in their own conference.

Hell from 2008-2012 they went 149-138.

Why do LSU fans get so triggered whenever UL athletics calls themselves by their athletic brand?

I thought their athletic brand was supposed to be LA now.

absolutely nothing wrong with trying to progress.

it's the delusional faction of your fanbase that thinks one College World Series apperance and a handful of Sun Belt titles is somehow even remotely close to being equal to 6 natty's & 29 trips to Omaha.

Trying to progress as a program and your fans thinking and acting like your institution is a peer of LSU's academically or athletically are two very different things.

I have very pro-ULL family members and some friends, and they spare no opportunity to try and rub my nose in LSU losses to any team. I won't hear from some of them for months, but I know when LSU drops a game the texts and emails will start. They like to make such references as, "purple and puke" and "evil empire" and "LSUA&M@BR" and "refineryville."

So yes, fans wanting to see their school flourish is admirable. What many of the ULL fans do is embarrassing.
