So, there are some dumb comments in game threads. Good players can have bad moments and a bad game, doesn't mean they suck.
Regardless, glad we tightened up in the 2nd half and started playing better.

started slow and uninspired, we couldn't make anything early but free throws kept us up. the second half we shot much better and our d tightened up.
mickey dominated as usual, malone looked good late, stringer hot as could be in the second half

You guys must be watching different games than me. Last year Shane was bad in the SEC. But so were all of our freshman with the exception of Malik having a couple of good games.
This year he is obviously much improved. He is much more sure of where he should be and what he should do. Most of you get down on him because he doesn't score a lot of points. Every team needs role players like him. It is called teamwork. Not everyone can be the star.
What does he do good? He has had very few if any turnovers. He has done a consistently excellent job of getting the ball to our post players when they are on the block. His defense and rebounding are much more solid than last year. Give the guy a break.

Mickey had another excellent game he is a defensive beast and attacks the offensive glass with a ton of energy
Hickey didnt play much but when he was in he ran the offense well and had some steals
Quarterman showed nice court vision/ passing ability he stilled played out of control in the 1st half though.
Stringer was cold in the 1st half and missed some open 3s but they started to fall in the 2nd
Malone had a block and showed a nice jumper from midrange
Odo played good on defense and had a few rebounds
Coleman played good on offense and defense
Hammink.. where do I start. He's still garbage on offense but his defense and rebounding were okay I guess.
Malik played okay and had a nice drive to the hoop
Shortess had a good assist to a Malone dunk late in the game.

-Hammink is terrible
-Why is Quarterman starting/playing? He has should have been redshirted written all over him.
-Is Martin going to play the 3 with Mickey at the 4?

I think Quaterman is more or less a project player that Johnny Jones is giving playtime early in the season so he can get in the motion of gameplay. Its not a bad idea, as long as we are winning the games we are supposed to be winning, let him play. Hickey will be the full time Point once the bigger games start rolling around
