And like you said in another thread there are plenty of so called LSU fans who would cheerfully fire coach O right now given the opportunity.

Which is totally reDICKulus. #6 finish after overcoming injuries, suspensions, transfers, schedule AND top 5 recruiting class that may end up even higher in February.
Unless and until he butchers clock management a la Miles and/or run right/left/pass offense, I am on the O train.

This was another average year by LSU standards. Unless you are into moral victories, in which case, grats on one of the best season ever.

LSU standards meaning what?

What Miles strung together a few seasons at LSU a decade ago?

2009: 9-4
2010: 11-2
2011: 13-1
2012: 10-3
2013: 10-3
2014: 8-5
2015: 9-3 (10-3 with McNeese)

Three losses is literally the average of his last seven full years.

Although you don’t even know what a decade is so I’m guessing actually adding and dividing is going to be too much at ask

Texas being highly ranked going into next year is purely for hype

They lose 15 starters and will be rebuilding a defense. They are a 7-5/8-4 team.

LSU will drag them by 21

#6 in the final poll, with 3 losses!

So the AP saw what the whole LSU Nation saw: that loss to Aggy was illegitimate!

Where are the Aggies in the AP poll?

I agree. It's hard to take these polls seriously these days.

Wow. We might start next season in the top 5. Will have a top 10 matchup against Texas right near the beginning of the season regardless.

ETA: Which is important of course... this all means finish the season with only 1 loss to Alabama and we will finish high enough for the playoffs with such a high starting position.

Take that out of there. The game was canceled.

Also from the way the game started, there's no guarantee the Tigers would have won that game. Three and out on the first possession.

Don't rain on his parade Voodoo. Lester's giddy about finishing the season with only 3 losses. Nevermind that this program has been doing that exact thing damn near every year this century.

I mean, there's zero doubt we win that game. It really sucks that it got cancelled, though. I was in that stadium the whole time. Freaking miserable.

Clempson went three and out in like 11 seconds to open the game last night....

Gotta be happy to finish #6 in the nation considering our schedule and talent.

I'm sure everyone is happy with finishing sixth in the country. But the schedule wasn't as tough as we all expected it to be before the season started and we've been as talented as damn near every other program in college football since the early Saban years.

Top 8 makes sense, I guess.

Clemson is a clear #1, decisively over Alabama. Bama is still very much the second best team

Ohio St/Oklahoma/Notre Dame... Ohio State finished with a win in the bowl and only 1 loss. I suppose that's how they get their bump, although beating Washington in a close game isn't that impressive.
Notre Dame's 30-3 loss to Clemson isn't that terrible in retrospect, and still the one loss. Oklahoma has two losses but did put some points on Bama; and after watching the championship, you have to wonder if Oklahoma may have done even better if they hadn't been blitzed so early.

LSU/Florida-Georgia tie:
LSU won big at home vs UGA, lost a close road game to Fla. All had 3 losses. Looking at bowls- all played comparable teams... good but flawed. LSU played scrappy Cinderella UCF and won more convincingly than the score- our shell of a defense held up vs their backup QB (who had a big game under his belt already), and our so-so offense crushed them. Florida whipped a Michigan team that Ohio State also whipped in their last game, so there's not a lot screaming that was a better win. UGA, between the loss to LSU in season and the egg they laid vs Texas, is lucky to be as high as they finished.
