I would imagine he would be reluctant to bring him out until it’s literally for the game. These guys are competitive at bats all the way through the lineup, so I’m not sure

You guys are overthinking. He wanted to see if AE could get through the bottom of the order before leaving. If he gets the swing call, he’s got one out and a good start on that.
Williams was pretty damn good stacking 0s last Sunday. He was our only effective pitcher.
