What I don’t understand is how we were ranked #1 with all the obvious issues this team has. Not saying we can’t turn things around but something is really wrong with the baseball ranking services.

Except Hess had the best start this series.
Has he got better than last year, no.
But at least watch how these pitchers do against quality teams before we anoint them.

Thats simple. We didn't lose a game until Friday. Rankings arent updated daily. Also, we have one of the best teams in the country.

Hess would be a great Saturday starter and Marceaux or Hilliard would be dynamite on Sunday.
LSU doesn't have a clear Friday starter IMO. We know that a 100% healthy Walker could be that guy though.

Returning talent and experience plus the #1 recruiting class in the country. Not very hard to see why people thought this team would be good. I'd bet a lot of money that this team will still be a national seed. The pitching will come around and they will figure out the right lineup. Hell the lost to UNO and Tulane twice each in 2017 and got down to #15 in the rankings but still made it to the NC. This team will be fine if they stay healthy.
