Evans wasn’t up to his own standards today. Even with the tighter zone he hit 2 guys and wasn’t in control at the level he usually is.

Correct, but the standards he has and what fans have for him are extremely high. He was more than manageable for a Sunday start. Got pinched a little bit by the strike zone today and had him off his game it seemed.

Got it done.

What we just saw is EXACTLY what we’ve been begging for and missing from the pen so far this year. Guys coming in and eating a few key outs with no walks to bridge gaps.

Evans pitched fine. Not getting the calls.

In my old man lingo, Evans pitched a good game for a pitcher, just not a good game for Evans.

True, but he battled even without his best stuff. He is a competitor and I feel good when he is on the mound.

He did better than Shores would have done, If history is any indicator.

How do you not atleast try to make the play at the plate?! That was so fricking frustrating.

Trying to make a play at the plate there likely puts runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Gamble wasn’t worth it in all likelihood.

It can’t be many times during the year when you throw to third for the force with 2 outs. Like 3-5 maybe. Kind of an unusual occurrence.

This. He’s STILL better than Shores, even not at his best.

A little bit I just realized with Milam at SS how refreshing it is to not have to hold our breath that a play will be made when the ball is hit to our SS. It’s been a roller coaster the last few years

First tiger that draws a walk is getting waved home. It is the only way to score.

Considering this ump is horrible I guess Evans would labor when it's a hitter's advantage and he still only allowed 1 run with several questionable ump calls that inning on him.

One batter in...checks notes...the 4th? Ok.

1. Step back, take a look at the situation and then really frick your own face

2. When you’re done with that Google what a LOOGY is, Who Jace LaViolette is and then google Primeaux’s numbers.

that was more than we could expect from him in a big moment. runs count in every inning
