I’m pretty shocked Auburn is leaving the ace in at 80 pitches when they have a national seed locked up. Coaches usually pull aces earlier in that situation last few years of sec tournament.

I remember people complaining about Curiel bunting

I would love a monster mash

Their Coach seems to want this game. Weirdly enough.

Ruckert is gonna have to make a massive jump in every asset of his game. He is defense is atrocious, he can't hit, and he pops up over half the time he's called on to bunt. There's no place on this team for an infielder that sucks at hitting and fielding.
I've coached kids like that. If you're smart, you don't give up on them too soon. A lot of times, they can work through the mental stuff and become huge contributors.

Ridiculously smart baseball player

Curiel is just fun to watch play baseball the same way Crews was. He just makes plays both ways.

DC making fools out of them

Ruckert was more known for his bat at Catholic than infield, and he played SS not 2nd. Learning curve
However he has a lot of work to put in this offseason.

In pregame, he sounded like he really wants to try to win the tourney

DC peppered LF from outside pitches last night, has already ripped an inside pitch to RF tonight and then just later down that bunt. Just a fundamental guru

Casuals don’t care about such things. .

quote:sure. My point is he's shown zero of the things you guys are acting like he is. Normally, you at least see a flash of something here and there from a freshman that turns out good.
He's a FR. I'd take him back and see how he develops. But with that said I'm absolutely going after 3 infielders in the portal
We don't have enough talented guys locking up other positions to hope and pray Ruckert figures it out next year. He's just as likely to be like Reaves and never figure it out.

there's not much of a learning curve between the two. SS is much more difficult

This lineup feels so lifeless without Serna tonight

Data of the last 10 years show national seeds who go on to win this tournament have not fared well in the regionals.
