The coaches have seen them all...they probably know more about football than anyone posting on here. I guess maybe y’all think they can’t evaluate who should start?

Considering the competition to date, this worries me. D lines are going to get much bigger and better. Fla, aub, bama are some good examples

This is the argument people on this board resort to when they run out of good arguments to make.

Coaches are no different than anyone else, particularly managers, who become biased or become tunnel visioned. They can misevaluate players, overlook talent or make what are perceived to be safer choices.
For example, it has been said that Microsoft lost their mojo and allowed Apple and Google to become bigger players because they didn't recognize or acknowledge their young talent and allow that talent to innovate. They played it safe.

Yep, and as long as opposing defenses are vulnerable to it, we'll keep right on doing it. We certainly aren't opposed to running the ball, and we are going to run the ball as Joe Brady sees fit.

What a time to be alive. Betting right now that the rushing O vastly improves. Top 30-40 rushing O and only that low bc of the pass heavy O.

If we can get the running game breaking big plays with the room the pass attack is bringing we will have a great season.

Pretty easy when you’re playing community colleges in your first few weeks.

Sorry, but I saw both Clyde and Davis-Price run against the same D and came away more impressed with Davis-Price even with fewer carries. Small sample size, but he looked to be the bruiser that best compliments our passing attack.

And honestly it was Emery who I thought would show the most, but Saturday it wasn’t.

LSU # 2 in Passing Offense and # 105 in Rushing Offense
So here's the question: is the combination of #2 passing and #105 rushing acceptable to the coaching staff? It could be. At what point does an abundance of one offset the shortcomings of the other and be declared "OK"?

Theoretically, if we passed for 700 YPG with a suspect running game, would that be OK? When do you get so good at one that balance becomes a moot point?

I’d like a little more balance. Not necessarily 50/50 but I’d just like to know that if we have a game where JB is off, we can still line up and pound the other team into submission

For me to answer to that comes down to what the reason is. Are we ranked 105 rushing because our pass is unstoppable vs top teams and we don't need to be balanced? Ok.
Do we struggle to run when we have to in close games against top teams? Not ok.

You feel me?

well in theory it is probably fine if you are throwing for 700 a game. The downside of becoming 1 dimensional is that when you become predictable it becomes easier to stop. but if you are throwing for tons of yards regardless it doesnt matter as long as you are scoring and not turning it over.
