Listen, first of all there is nothing out there that corroborates that she was distracted. Maybe she was. I’m not gonna dispute that or not. I know the only place I’ve heard that from is a defense lawyer. You can take that and run with it if you want.
I understand what you’re saying, but based on the law and domino effect and the fact that Lacy was clearly breaking the law and someone died, based on the law, that is hit and run causing a death. Nothing changes that.

Yeah I get it woth the domino effect. Regardless of reasons. How can it be justified that KL's actions led to another person's actions that caused a death when she herself wasnt doing what she was supposed to. If she had been, no accident, just like everyone agree if Lacy was acting fast and furious dangerously , no accident. I agree that what lacy was doing could have resulted in SEVERAL deaths and what she did, just 1. I cant just blame KL.

She also avoided Lacy, did she not? It just ended up causing a collision with another vehicle. Which, of course, is the entire point.

Honestly, I wish we had a better view of the accident. It’s clear Lacy was driving fast and passed illegally. It would be good to see what the gold car saw in real time as Lacy approached him. The diagram of the accident was helpful. I’m glad it was included. 2 things can be true. Lacy was at fault and the Funyuns lady was following too closely. She wasn’t paying attention and this cut her reaction time.

KL is hard to blame because he’s an LSU player with a bright future who killed himself. It’s a sad story. And I, too, think the car behind gold truck was irresponsible. Blame can be in degrees. It’s not 100% one or the other here imo. Either person could have avoided this result had they been following all laws. However, Lacy’s actions seem more egregious due to the recklessness of his actions that set off the entire incident.

1. swerve to the left and try to get to the dollar general parking lot
2. stop in the lane she was currently in
To most of us option 2 would have been the better bet here, but choosing option 1 when she had less than a second of decision time does not make her more at fault than Lacy...and does not make her negligent either. She was charged for driving left of center, and that is what she did wrong here.
