You mean he took a break from explaining how and why Bama should be in the playoffs to mention something that happened during the game between two teams not named Alabama?… I must have drowned him out by that point.

Its made for times like when Stetson Bennett tried to take out Savion Jones knee in the 3rd quarter.

Glad to see many of you are finally waking up to what the SEC really has become.

Like I said in other threads: It was best LSU got blown out Saturday. If this was a close game, the refs would have been the difference. They made it clear VERY EARLY the game was going to be tilted. Allowing UGA to target one of our players should have clued you in if you hadn't caught on yet.

The SEC isn't here to help LSU. The day everyone recognizes that, your life will be better. It just frustrates the hell out of me that they will compromise the health of the players in order to rig the games.

One of many Bs calls/no calls that favored Georgia. Not sure why they fricked us. Georgia was the better team anyway, they didn’t need the help

I knew it would be a long day when the punt returner was tackled before he was able to field the ball and no flag was thrown.

The SEC always does this. Higher ranked teams with more playoff potential get preferential calls. We all forget the horrific officiating job in the Bama game because we won, but they were awful then too. They don’t want the SEC cannibalizing itself in the SECCG when Georgia’s #1 seed is on the line.

ETA: I feel we got this treatment in ‘19 as well, just for fairness and transparency.

HE hit him at the waist as I recall.

It’s not a good rule in that situation, the TE is the aggressor. If he is standing still or blindside I get it. Why do they allow you to tackle below the waist? Same situation.

I hate the call.

First, it's not even a "block" in the traditional sense. It's a defender taking on a block. On most occasions it is a OL or TE attempting to block a DB. The size discrepancy, as it was with Ward, is often great. We're talking many times 5, 6, 7 inches and 100+ lbs. What is the DB supposed to do in that position? Run around the block and out of the play? Allow himself to get crushed by the blocker? Frankly, going low is his only means of protection.

I'm ok with not going at a QBs legs when he's throwing on cutting lineman low (especially from the blindside) at the LOS. But you have to allow the DB to protect himself.

They really gave BK the warm welcome to the SEC this year, hope it doesn't continue.

MFers were clearing protecting GA, starting w that call, ending w the overturned targeting (where the guy was looking at the ground).

It looked like he attacked around hip level. The monster was way to tall and got folded up. It looked rough in real speed but was solid football.

It’s when I knew the fix was in.
yea, the SEC fixed the game so that two SEC teams wouldn't make the playoffs. Right.

You realize that LSU only had 3 penalties called on us. That's one less than UGA, and for 9 fewer yards.

But yea, the fix was in.

The most frustrating for me was on our second possession of the game, 3rd and goal….watch Bech get tackled at the goal line as a receiver. Instead of a penalty giving us 1st and goal at the 2, we end up getting the field goal blocked for a Georgia TD…..most likely a 14 point swing!!

I have a picture of Bech getting tackled but unfortunately i just joined the site yesterday and haven’t figured out how to post it yet.

Same. When Clayton was hit before he caught ball and the rules guy is on there saying it’s a penalty…I knew we had an uphill battle on top of beating the best team in America

And you realize not all penalties are as impactful as others? It’s about timing and circumstances. Bama is the poster child in past years.

Critical moments…they don’t get called for shite. A holding call or something that ends up costing them 3 yards in the 4th quarter of a blowout yea that gets called so the numbers don’t look at disparate

Statistics don’t always tell the full story.

You mean like the PI called against them in the endzone on a 3rd & 8 pass with LSU down 9-7. That penalty gave LSU 1st & goal from the 2...LSU scored a TD to go up 14-9

Or, perhaps, the PI on 3rd & 5 at the Alabama 45 in the 4th quarter with LSU trailing 15-14. That penalty prevented LSU from having to punt and the drive ended in an LSU FG.

Or, a PI call with LSU down 21-17 with 3:00 to go in the game. The penalty put the ball at the Alabama 24. 4 plays later LSU scored a go ahead TD.

LSU scored 17 points in the second half. On ALL 3 scoring drives there were penalties called against Alabama (two on otherwise failed 3rd down conversions) that were HUGE in allowing LSU to get points.

That's not to say there weren't questionable calls go Alabama's way (The overtime PI that "was not" tipped comes to mind, as well as the no-call on the Bama TD pass where Perkins was damn near tackled just as he was about to get to Young). But, LSU had some calls go their way. Stop seeing what you want to see and watch the game objectively.

You can’t tell a 6 footer to go block a 6’7 TE or Olineman above the waist. That’s dangerous for db and a huge disadvantage.

To be fair the calls LSU got were rather undeniable

The questionable calls…how did those go?

So is spotting them 6 yards on one play and another yard on two occasions just incompetence in your opinion?

Hating LSU is pretty much obligatory for all Alabama fans, veiled or otherwise.
