this.

Too many people on this board see everything only through P&G glasses. No clear-eyed objectivity, just raw emotion.

That’s a bad way to be.

It's a stupid fricking rule.

Well, yeah, but it is also another rule that the SEC can "interpret" when needed to tilt a game. They will likely appease the true believers by saying these can be reviewed in the future, but now the corrupt league even compromises instant replay.

ok, even if that's true, should the refs ignore it?

Do you want politicians, police, and other authorities to decide for themselves which laws/rules can be ignored?

If you don't like the rule, contact the NCAA Rules committee and suggest a change (I've done that several times).

But don't blame the refs for a rule you don't like. Blame the Rules Committee.

yes I submitted suggested rule changes, but only got a boilerplate response. I know my individual suggestion won't have any impact, but if a lot of people do the same, then maybe it gets some consideration.

And it certainly doesn't hurt.

To be fair the calls LSU got were rather undeniable

The questionable calls…how did those go?

So is spotting them 6 yards on one play and another yard on two occasions just incompetence in your opinion?

If the league really wanted Alabama to win they wouldn't call PI on 3rd down to keep LSU drives alive on TWO occasions where LSU was trailing. PI is one of the more subjective calls there is. In fact, there may no other call in the game that you could get away with to hide your bias. In every single game that is played, regardless of team, there are instances where a lot of contact is not-called and minimal contact is. Point is, the officials, if they wanted Alabama to win could have kept their flags in their pockets. We've all seen worse NOT called PI. BOTH were critical moments for LSU given a no call ends the drive and forces a FG/or punt. Yet, they didn't. And doing so directly led to LSU having an additional opportunity to score 10 points.

If you trying to ensure one team wins you don't unnecessarily give them an additional opportunity to score points.

That rule is BS. If you want to protect your knees, don't play football.

They ignore it countless times every game. So why would it be different this time?

Or quit thinking you know everything. No one that objectively watched that game thought believes the officiating was good

They ignored a blatant targeting call. They even went to replay and told everyone that what we just saw at five different angles really didn't happen. Why did they ignore that? That is a rule to protect players too...

Here, I'll give you a hint as to why they ignored that blatant target, among several other obvious calls like the interference on the first punt that should have been a PF: they were told to officiate the game that way and protect the #1 team at all costs, even if it meant keeping a backup LB from being suspended for an illegal hit.

I'm sorry that this fantasy you have about CFB being on the up and up is false. Funny you stated something about politicians too. I'll give you a hint: They are more crooked than the SEC.
