LSU was -12.5 in this game, but Kenpom had this more as -8 or so. LSU is going to continue to grow with basketball part, we have the players.
Good post me.

It was a good win against a good team, but we have to get better at 3s on both ends.

We closed the rebound margin towards the end but had an off night at the ft line. We made enough down the stretch to secure the win though and got the defensive stops we needed.

Hopefully La Tech goes on to play like they have thus far and win their conference.

1st game I watched didn't see the whole thing but is it me or does it seem we have taken a step back from being a disciplined take the good shots team, to now we run and gun rely on talent more then technique. I love what I'm seeing though this team at a glance seems to have the most talent at all positions then I ever remember. And I remember a lot of good teams from 99 till now. But seems every single one of our dudes can ball and Mays who I thought was a liability last year is now the leader and making some of the smarter plays! I'm pumped for this year and ready to see waters start clicking again!

An ugly game on some levels. But they came up Big when they needed to.
My player of the game was KBW, he was the difference maker on both sides of the court.
I will say, the last 3 teams we beat were good teams that will be NIT type teams by end of the year.

First game in Orlando-Charleston.
I really want a match up with Florida State. That would be a great test, win or lose going forward for this team.

This is a very young team. They will be inconsistent until they can build a team chemistry and also develop a better shot selection offense. Tonight, they grew a little with the challenging contest and came out of it a better team.

Has Waters regressed or its too early to tell? He’s been making some lazy bad passes, his shots haven’t really been falling.
This is a question I have been asking also. He is still a very good player but his judgement and shooting have been off since the latter part of last season. He tries to do too much a lot of the time but then his teammates haven't been giving him enough help. It just seems like he has no patience and tries to force the action whether it is on a break, a drive or a three point attempt.

Although on paper and according to Wade, in practice, these guys are great three point shooters it hasn't worked out that way in games. We need to slow it down, work the ball and make sure we get a good shot.

I think people fail to realize how physical that game was. LSU has some serious future NBA talent - but it is the coaching staff’s job to pull it all together.

This is not the part of the year to panic, especially the 2nd week of the season

A lot of young Guys out there and other new faces

Perimeter D and shot selection needs to improve though I agree

Smart, Bigby-Williams, and Mays were solid down the stretch. The new players are supplying a lot of good energy.

I am happy with the win. La Tech has a lot of players that will give you matchup nightmares. Powell will go home and kick a few household pets, but he will be a big force against a lot of teams.
