To be completely accurate, the data you are referencing is MLB data. College defenses are far, far inferior so there is more value in putting the ball in play in college than pros. I’m glad to see our guys lifting it but contact can still be pretty valuable in college.

Barely getting by some teams that we should have overwhelmed .
He even admitted that he did not prepare them well at times.....If you and I have a great year at work but then stop performing...we will no longer be there.

Let’s see where this team finishes. Preseason polls don’t mean anything and polls in March also don’t mean anything.
Can we talk about how they overwhelmed the number 2 team in the country on the road this weekend? No you just want to bring up those midweek games that mean absolutely nothing. You think anyone cares that LSU lost to McNeese Tuesday? No because they won 2 out of 3 this weekend.

I don’t think anyone believes 5 titles a decade is feasible but the facts are that we haven’t won it in a decade. We are being owned by in-state teams in mid-week games, which shouldn’t happen. We are lacking any big name, potential first rounders in the lineup. We should always have one if not a couple of these guys here. Not all recruits will pan out the way you think but it seems we are becoming just an average SEC team. IMO it looks a lot like the final days of the Les Miles era. Like it or not, it’s the state we are currently in

I won't argue his resume .. he just doesn't seem very passionate anymore and it's like he doesn't have a killer instinct. Players underperform like he's not getting the best out of them. Lots of things that add up. I mean our team was preseason ranked #1 and couldn't throw out a baserunner stealing if our lives depended on it.

To be fair CPM didn’t vote the team preseason number 1. The best catcher in the team can’t catch at the moment. It will get better when Garza comes back full strength.

But you still listed Andy cannizaro as a choice better than Mainieri. He might be a good coach, but no one has seen him do a damn thing yet. A classic grass is greener scenario. I just want to know why our fans are obsessed with this guy. People have wanted fire fire Mainieri for Cannizzaro since he was brought in.
