The best thread I have read on this board in a long time. Sure it had some arseholes in it but the thread as a whole was great reading. I wish that there where more like it because if it were this board would truly be great. The problem is there is too many arseholes during the day to hold a decent conversation in order to relay to each other the information to have a decent conversation.

Les knows the problem but he could not for whatever reason own up to the problem since at the beginning of last year he said the OL is the best he has had since was here. That put him in a quandry that he could not over come. Hopefully he has time to correct it because he did not make the changes that he needed to make overall.

Miles & staff are either recruiting the wrong guys, or he and his coaches can't develop talent worth a shite, because our O & D lines aren't near good enough. 112th in the nation in offense, what a fricking joke.

Why would this make you feel better? They chose the linemen that played, and when they did not perform well, they kept playing them even though they had better guys on the bench. They refused during the season to make obvious changes.

These past few articles Miles has been really kinda forward with whats wrong with the team, and acknowledging it's weaknesses
As much as I've criticized him for his speaking and communicating to the fans and the media, I will give him credit for sounding much better in the last few interviews. No more mealy mouth, weasel words and coachspeak bullshite, at least for now anyway.

Great, it's only taken him 2 years to say what any normal coach would say after the first game we played like that. And this makes people happy?

It also took him only 3 years to win an NC and still people are unhappy

To doc fenton: I think your disaster scenario is a cognitive dissonance. I think the level of play in the last several years in the SEC preclude a champion that loses two non-confernce and two conference games.

In other words, if a team is poor enough to lose a neutral site game to an ACC foe and a home game to a Big East foe, then there will surely be at least one team better than them in their division of the SEC.

Your theory is plausible, but unlikely.

It's Crowton guys, and therefore it's Miles insanity that keeps GC here.

Understand, that all aspects of blocking and blocking schemes are designed by the OC. There are so many personnel changes, shifts, adjsutments, audibles, etc on every play that I seriously doubt if the o-line was ever comfortable enough to just execute and play to their potential.

I do understand we misjudge a recruit from time to time, and that should show against the really good or better teams we play. But when this issue is prevalent EVERY SINGLE GAME, even against poor quality oponents, then that easily tells you it's not the personnel, it's the overall design and scheme that were taught.

Our OC is clueless on what to teach the line to do on all of these idiotic formations and shifts which cause the D to change positions and put the O line at a huge disadvantage, all because he's trying to run the offense for JJ from the booth.

Trick's on you Gary, the D adjusts, your offense can't!

So how could he keep the same O-line coach going into next season? That is truly puzzling

Because Stud promises to work harder next year than he did this year. Which indicates to me he sat on his arse this year. That is truly puzzling.

When Miles spoke to a handful of beat writers last week, he remained as diplomatic as he could about the embattled line.

“I liked our two tackles and I still liked our guards,” he said. “The bad news is, the one guard didn’t have the greatest year that he would’ve liked to have had and our center didn’t gel like he could’ve.

“So then the second-team center may eclipse that guy and the second-team guard may step forward and be yet better than the first-team guard on the right side. Did I see that going in? No. Had they developed like they could well have, I think it could have been a great year.”

Instead, there’s a renewed sense of urgency for the line to get back to the level it played at in the first four years of Miles’ tenure.

if he says this stuff during the season then he is potentially tearing them down when he obviously doesn't have anyone better to play. Since he said it during the off season, he is challenging them to get better during Spring Practice and Fall Camp and informing all of the OL that there will be open competition for all of the starting OL spots

Give it up Supa. The angry mob has assembled.

Does anyone think we adjust our blocking scheme for the OL or do we continue to coach these guys this scheme?

I think Miles could have mentioned that the second-team guard on the left side may step forward and be yet better than the first-team left guard.

99% of college football fans know that. He's getting $4 million a year to know what we all know?
