I'm told that @NYJets great Kevin Mawae did make the Final 10 cut for the Hall of Fame, but will have to wait on his golden jacket. He didn't get in this year. #nyj

Jerry Kramer made it in and he played In the 60s. Mawae will have plenty more years to make it

It's a HUGE joke that Feneca and Mawae aren't in the Hall of Fame. It's an even bigger joke that Urlacher is in first ballot over them both. I like Urlacher, but there's no mother fricking way I would put him in over Mawae or Feneca. That is bull shite.

Yeah being very outspoken as the player rep for the NFLPA ruffled some feathers. It’s a shame he’s being held back for trying to fight for the players.

As one voter said, there were big recognition names this year, on top of at least 4-5 lineman being nominated, creating a logjam of lineman. There will be a slowdown one year of big names being added and one lineman will get voted in then the others will get in.

Pretty sure they have 10 years to get voted in then it goes to senior committee which is how Jerry Kramer got in.

Things of this nature, HOF, Pro Bowl, All Pro teams, allstar teams, awards, Heisman etc., all those things are totally biased popularity contest nothing more. Anyone who believes for one second that Derrick Henry was a better football player than Leonard is a total and unequivocal dumbass. I've never, in over 30 years of following college football, seen a player from a major university run for over 1800 yards and not at least get invited to the Heisman presentation. The fact Terral Owens and Brian Dawkins and Brian Urlacher were elected into the HOF over either Fanaca or Mawae is a perfect example of that biased mentality. Now, I am not saying Owens or Dawkins or Urlacher weren't any good, but they were not more dominate at their positions than Kevin and Alan. I could agree with Urlacher in litigation and maybe Owens, but not Dawkins.

LSU fans should be more upset that Johnny Robinson isn't in the HOF moreso than Mawae.

That's the fricking real travesty

Andrew Whitworth went nearly 2 seasons without giving up a sack a few years ago and didnt even make the Pro Bowl. The next year he is voted All-Pro and and still doesnt make the Pro Bowl. It is all a popularity contest and when he retires and his name comes up for the HOF he will get the same treatment.

For the last time, it's the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Stats (though admittedly, OL players go by a different standard.

But yeah, Stabler didn't get in until the year after he died, just because of pettiness.
