Looking back now, was the Ole Miss game the most blown out of proportion game ever?

By the talking heads?

It's like the media read the stats and NOTHING else. No one turned on the TV in the first half? Ole Miss started off with in the first half

Punt,
Missed field goal,
Punt,
Punt,
Punt,
TD
End on downs

It was 31-7 in the first half.

I can't remember a game more that we dominated that we got so much shite for by the media.

I kind of agree. The most obvious factor which NEVER was mentioned by the heads.... was on the road a week after traveling to Tuscaloosa.

I think the media helped us get focused if that makes sense.

I think when you’re as dominant as LSU was last season, haters will look for anything they can to downgrade your team.

No, because it was so sudden and happened numerous times. Either we had a structural problem or an attitude problem and either were troubling. Didn’t show that we were ready to continue to step on the throat.

Plus that was an injuries and suspension game... Plumlee said beforehand that he was going to run thru our defensive set up

Yes. It was pure ignorance.

LSU just went on the road and beat Alabama in a highly charged, emotional game and then took a 31-7 lead against a highly inferior Ole Miss by the half. They let off the gas some in the second half and Plumlee gashed them for a few big plays. Talking heads, incapable of rational thought, blew it all out of proportion and ridiculed the defense. It worked out in our favor though, as the defense played the rest of the year with a chip on their shoulder and shut everyone else completely down.

We got dropped out of #1 ranking due to that game because our defense “wasn’t a championship defense”. The d took it as a personal challenge to prove the doubters wrong. They did so in spades. Was badass to see them rise to the challenge.

It was perfect. Gave all other teams a glimmer of hope

No, the defense had one of the worst halves of football in recent memory. It was embarrassing

Yeah. Literally saw on the Clemson boards that they were pumping up their schedule by the logic “NO team has beaten a #2 team all season except Clemson.”

We smoked everyone and everyone knows it.

To start the season, Chaisson and Rashard Lawrence were about 75%.

Plus Aranda was still trying to adjust to us scoring so fast.

Looking back?? Anyone with half a brain who actually watched the games knew immediately it was blown out of proportion.

Maybe. I know it was the catalyst this defense needed to start dominating for 4 quarters instead of 2.

Plumlee should get a replicated championship ring for his help in waking up the LSU defense... and Ole Miss should hang a "Banner of Assistance" next to their 2003 SEC West Co-Championship banner.

Worst game we had by far was Moo State. Big win at home week prior against Florida and went on the road to StarkVegas and looked like crap. Terrible.

Best thing to happen. Lit a fire and the defense played with a chip.
